Can you use tge fingerprint scanner through the case?

The case does not cover the front screen so scanner not affected. It only covers the back and sides of the phone.

No, the tempered-glass back can not be used only. It is a part of the the original case so that it would not work with other cases.

Will it allow me to lay the phone flat?

The case is raised about the camera slightly allowing the phone to lie completely flat.

I hope I understood your queation. I think the edges dont raise above the thickness of the screen, but it does make the phone slightly wider. It also sticks out from the back above the camera's thickness. However, it makes the phone more stable when you place it on a table when using a pen. Better than without the cover.
