Great Travel Cooler
I purchased this for a week-long road trip so we could transport some essential groceries with us from one B&B to another and make lunches on-the-go without having to deal with ice or freezer packs, and it worked great. I love the dual-power option (12V & 110V) and cord storage. I also like being able to lock the lid by moving the handle into the appropriate position. It fit perfectly under the cargo cover in the back of our Rav4 and ran just fine off of the switched 12V power port back there. It ran quietly; we could hear it running only when the engine wasn't. Even indoors, the sound wasn't very noticeable. It was just the right size for our needs, which typically included a quart of milk, lunch meat, sliced cheeses, mayo, yogurt cups, carrot & celery sticks, and some small drinks. We even used it to keep some chocolates cool as we drove. I chose to transfer everything to refrigerators each night (which didn't always have a freezer suitable for refreezing ice packs), but would plug the cooler in to 110V for 30 minutes or so in the morning prior to loading it as per the suggestions of other users. It did a great job keeping our food cool during multiple, full days of travel, even when being opened several times, and I loved not having to purchase ice, drain water, or worry about refreezing freezer packs. The only thing I ran into that was less-than-optimal was that it is a bit top-heavy and prone to tipping over when the lid is open and the unit is empty, but it was easy enough to hold it or prop it against a wall or cabinet until I put in something heavy enough to keep it upright. And I have to say that I do like that the cooling section is entirely self-contained in the lid which is removeable for cleaning and storage, so the tipping doesn't bother me much. The cord cover could be just a bit stronger/robust as sometimes the 110V cord would push up on it (even when run in the cord groove) due to holding it's memory from being wound up in the storage area. It wasn't a functional problem, but just a minor cosmetic observation. Overall, this seems to be a great unit and I highly recommend it for replacing a typical ice cooler.

Heats water and food really well. Uses 39 watts per hour, very efficient
I wanted to write this review, because I'm using it to heat items rather than cool them, and it worked really well for that. I have some other portable food heater type devices and they use close to 200 watts per hour --this uses 39 watts per hour --and if you put warm food or beverages in it, it will keep them warm for several hours. I also tried to putting room temperature items in it, and it heated the items in about 2 hours, so compared to most other heating devices- this is very energy efficient. I am going to use it to keep water warm while camping so I can wash dishes.

Works great - lid is top heavy though
This cooler works great. I tested the cooling and heating and the results were surprising. Plugged into household current, the box cooled down to about 38 degree F in about an hour (from room temperature). I switched it over to heat from that temperature and it topped out at around 148 in little over an hour. An excellent solution to traveling with food. It won't cook the food for you, but it will keep it at a safe temperature. I have not tried it powered by my truck yet, but I would have to assume it will perform the same. My only complaint is the lid is very top heavy because it has the cooling/heating unit and fan in it. So if the cooler is empty or only partially full, it will tip over. Also, the handle will secure the lid closed - 100% guaranteed that it is in that position when I try to open it! For the price I paid ($25 in "Used" condition) I am extremely satisfied and I bought several extras as gifts. I'm not sure if I'd paid the full price of over $100 for it though.

Exceeded my expectations in the desert heat.
I took this cooler camping in Palm Springs and it exceeded my expectations. I plugged in at my house to get it cold and then transferred to my truck and plugged in to the 12v. After the 2.5 hour drive to Palm Springs, all the drinks were still cold. I sat it outside my camper plugged into a regular outlet for 3 and half days in 90+ degree heat and mostly in direct sunlight. It actually kept up. The drinks stayed cold. Not the kind of cold that a cooler full of ice would have done but cold enough for drinking an no worry about the ice melting in that heat and having to replenish it. I’m impressed.

Not worth it!!!
This is the 2nd one of these purchased. As a family on the road we need a reliable cooler. This broke after not even a month. Our other one lasted for a little longer but both had same issue. Just stopped cooling. We bought again because we were still traveling and really needed way to store food. The size fit great in our back seat just wish it would work. Durability is less then 1 star. We even bought an adapter plug hoping we could make it last a longer but the cooler refused to turn on. Wouldn't recommend this.

Very convenient to have in the car
We bought this to use in the car for a road trip. We are three weeks and 6,000 miles into the road trip and this has given us no problems at all. We have a built in 120V receptacle in the vehicle and that's what we are using, not the 12 volt. We basically ran it for 48 hours straight for the first two days. That was a little much for it. The top was getting hot. What we were doing was taking the cooler from the car into the hotel and plugging it right in. That was running it too much. So what we started to do then was run it in the car during the day, and then empty the cooler into the fridge in the hotel at night. We then load it up again in the morning. That has been working well. The cooler will keep things cold (we're not using the heater function) but it really doesn't cool things from outside temperature to cold. That being said, where we are it is in the high 80's. So it's a lot to ask to cool it down from there to really cold. Bottom line, my wife and I are glad that we purchased this. We are still on the trip and still using it, and it's nice to be able to reach into it and get a cold drink or healthy snacks without having to stop and pay convenience store prices.

Nice design but somewhat fragile and possible safety issue.
Pros: - Convenient size - Nice design - locking cover, cord storage - Works well Cons: - Not very tough - see picture of crack that occurred during the first use. I'm not sure what caused it, but something must have banged it and it is much less robust than normal coolers. - Possible connector problems. The 12v plug tip got red-hot in use. I'm not sure if it was due to the outlet or the product plug, but the connection must have been poor so potentially could have caused a fire. This happened both times the product was used on 12v. If it didn't get the crack or have the possible safety issue, would rate a 5, but the 12v plug is potentially a show-stopper. Will test it more; if it is clearly the cooler's issue, will adjust to a 1 star.

Useful cooler for car camping, road trips or yard applications
I was looking for a small/medium-sized cooler to act as a mini fridge that could be used for short road trips, car camping, etc. Most units advertised just have 12V plug-ins (for car, etc.), but I wanted one that could also be plugged in at the house to get things cooled down. I've used this unit for a week now for car and yurt camping and it worked great in both the car and inside with standard electric outlet. It kept things very cool (about 2 to 5celsius, or under 40F), so no spoilage of foods. It gets colder than freezing on the top sometimes (close to the cooler unit) so keep sensitive veggies a bit farther away from that. It's not huge, but it can hold a fair bit. Some reviewers said it takes a long time to cool down. Inside a warm house, it seemed to take about 2 hours to cool right now to target temperature with a couple of warm beverages. Not a major issue really since you can put items in cold from the fridge to help speed up the process. I tried the "warming" function and it does keep things warm, but not hot. I don't think it's advertised as keeping hot foods in the "safe zone" for long term storage. This isn't a feature I really care about, but it did act as a gentle warmer. Anyway, very pleased so far.

So far so good
So far it’s working great and I don’t find it noisy at I can barely hear it.

Great product
Great product. Keeps frozen stuff frozen for a day if cooled down first. Nice size to fit anywhere in the car. Have not tried the keep warm feature yet.
