BIONIC STEEL PRO 75 Ft Metal Garden Hose with Brass Nozzle

If you are reading this review, that tells me that you are interested in purchasing this hose. Let me give you the short version: Stop reading and BUY the hose! Longer version: Perhaps you are thinking about buying one of those "pocket hoses"? They are OK, but they do have two serious quality issues: They wear very quickly when dragged on the ground, and the thorns on my roses slice them like a hot knife through butter. I purchased the 100-foot hose because...why not? It will not go to waste, and with my luck, if I purchase the 50-foot hose, I will need 52 feet. The hose itself is of outstanding quality. The connector ends are first-class. For the past few weeks, I have beaten on this hose, and it still does not even have a scratch. For storage: I did have an issue storing the hose until I figured out a solution: The hose coils very easily, and it fits very well in a 5-gallon pail (photo). The pail and the 100-foot hose weigh about 5 pounds.

Recently purchased two of these hoses to replace old rubber hoses I've used for years. So far I'm liking them. They're light weight, easy to handle and coil and work well. That said, be aware, you can't handle these roughly like you might handle a rubber hose. Tugging, stretching/pulling hard could cause the metal exterior to split if you're not careful with it.

I bought this in October 2025, as I had others and liked how they would not kink. Recently, I had this set up with a sprinkler on a timer set for 25 minutes a day for some new grass. After a week of use it just started leaking water from the middle, there is no sign of damage. Edit 5/13/2026, I contacted the vendor by phone and they apologized for the problem and replaced the hose. I'm completely satisfied,assuming unless this one also has an uncharacteristically short life.

The non-kink aspect and the brass fittings of this hose are very nice, and it is lightweight and easy to move around. The shut-off valve is a nice feature which compensates for not being able to temporarily shut off flow as with a rubber hose by simply tightly bending/crimping it. However, due to its smaller-than-normal internal diameter, this hose has a smaller-than-normal flow rate. That makes it a poor choice for use with a sprinkler system or without a hose-end sprayer that relies more on pressure than volume. (The instructions say that it works best with a sprayer, but that fact isn't mentioned in the Amazon write-up.) The biggest drawback to this hose is that - despite the picture in the Amazon ad touting it as "Life Proof" by showing a car driving over the hose - it absolutely will not stand up to that kind of outside pressure. It permanently deforms the hose (see my photos) to drive over it with a car (Ford Escape) or even a much-lighter weight lawn tractor (Troy-Bilt), to the point that the flow is reduced. And unlike a top-quality rubber hose, which takes such abuse in stride (at a cheaper price), there is no way to cut and repair this hose once it's messed up. This hose was my first experience with a stainless steel water hose. I bought it as an experiment to see if this type of hose would work for me because it looks like it has some very nice features. I got the 100-foot length since my house is on 2 acres, and I needed a longer hose. I've used it for a week and was genuinely hoping that this hose would deliver, but it's turned out to be inadequate for my needs in terms of its flow. However, its inability to withstand being run over is what makes it totally useless for me, and I don't recommend it for anyone else. My experiment has shown me that this hose is definitely not worth what it costs, and I won't be buying any more. I'm reluctantly going back to my original rubber hoses because they can do what I need a water hose to do at a lower cost.

Ordered this hose as had an old, heavy black rubber which the mice liked to chew on occasionally and tired of patching. This hose was a nice surprise. The 100' is very light and easy to move around and winds up super easy on my hose reel. Does not kink and slides around obstacles with ease. Would have given it a 5 rating, except the volume is lower than my other hoses due to smaller inside diameter so my sweep sprinkler doesn't reach as far. I didn't realize this when ordered, but still very happy with it and switched to a new telescoping tripod sprinkler and love my new setup... so easy. Liked the Bionic Steel hose so much I ordered two more for my other spigots!

Hope to find this garden hose works as promised. Its a good concept, worth trying. It is already light weight and easy to handle. Moving it from plant to plant is a relative dream. Just pick up a small coil, and continue until you have enough to move without hurting any plants, Garden art, etc. Works great for washing the car, too. And, the nozzles,cwhile basic, do their job.

I got 2, 25 ft. And 50 ft. Love them both. Light weight, good water pressure , easy to handle and easy to stored away. Would recommend it.

This hose is very light and flexible. I was having trouble with our rubber hose getting tangled and heavy. So far I love this hose. Got the 100 ft and is fits nicely in a large pot.

Can’t say enough good things about this hose. Very well made and virtually impossible to tangle. How a metal hose can be lighter and easier to manipulate than a plastic one is beyond me, but it’s all those things and more.

fantastic, i should have bought one sooner, and got rid of my dinosaur heavy hose. very light, does not tangle, easy to pull around and pick up.

Looks sturdy, I particularly like the brass fittings, hopefully will last longer that plastic ones. Also like the stop valve at the end of the hose, very convenient. It took a little while to ‘unkink’ it straight out of the box, but after a couple of times using it it winds up now with no problem.
