UNADandruff Shampoo 250ml

I bought this to replace my usual The Body Shop Ginger Scalp Care Shampoo which is now banned from being sold in California due to one of the ingredients (Cocamide DEA) being deemed carcinogenic. The active ingredient of that shampoo that made it work so well for itchy scalps was Piroctone Olamine so I thought I'd try this UNA shampoo which also contains this anti-dandruff ingredient.I'm very particular about looking at ingredients of beauty products before buying them, but I couldn't find them online anywhere for this UNA shampoo - and I didn't get any response when I emailed the company that makes UNA either. I thought I'd give it a try anyway. However, once it arrived, I was disappointed to find it contained all of the following which I would normally completely avoid or minimize:- Sodium Laureth Sulphate - can be drying- Cocamide DEA - if I wanted to risk carrying on using this ingredient, I would find a way of getting hold of the Body Shop Ginger shampoo- Parfum - high up in the list of ingredients, before Piroctone Olamine- Various polymers/films/silicones like Polyquaternium-7, Polyquaternium-10, PEG/PPG-18/18 Dimethicone and Styrene/Acrylates Copolymer - these leave a film on hair to smooth it but make hair lank quickly, and the scalp greasy- Methylchloroisothiazolinone and Methylisothiazolinone - preservatives which are known to cause severe allergic reactions on skinDespite all of these problematic ingredients, I've used the shampoo a few times just to test how well it fares my scalp. It leaves my hair feeling and looking nice for the first day (albeit with a slight coated feeling). But my hair already feels more lank than normal by the second day, and my scalp gets itchier quicker than it does when I'm using the Body Shop Ginger Shampoo.This shampoo doesn't seem to dry my hair out at least though.Next up on my list of Piroctone Olamine shampoos to try is  Sebamed Anti Dandruff Shampoo 200ml  which has a more favorable list of ingredients.

I'd never buy this again I gave it away. My hair got dryer and my scalp got worse.

This product is good to use if you have dry scalp and flakes. It should be alternated between the Hydrating Shampoo so your hair doesn't get too dried out.
