Helix - Magnetic whiteboard Geometry Set - 4 piece

I was looking for large tools to teach my homeschooler geometry. This kit has been amazing! I definitely recommend it.

This kit has been a great tool to teach geometry students proper construction techniques.

I’m glad I got them, but be warned that the compass is very hard to use! I’ve spent hours practicing and I’ve gotten better, but it’s still very hard to get right and to perform constructions with. However, I’m sure they’re all hard to use and when it does work out it’s a great teaching tool since I can’t go to every students desk to do the constructions with a tiny compass. The triangles and protractor are great and I use the ruler constantly for all sorts of purposes! The magnets could be stronger though and I find that they slide quite a bit.

I like the way the protractor and triangles work. I like the storage case. The meter stick needs stronger magnets; it doesn’t stay in place and frequently slips while connecting points. The compass is like all other chalkboard/dry erase board compasses - flimsy. The compass takes practice, as do other versions that I’ve used through the years.

I bought this for my son who uses a large whiteboard for math stuff that involves graphs, straight lines, triangles, circles, etc. The pieces are all bright yellow and have bold markings for measurements, I'm sure these are intended for classroom demonstration. The tools are very magnetic and stick well, they don't move when you're drawing against them but the handles make it easy to pull them off and reposition. The compass however is almost comical with huge 18" arms, it'll take some practice to tame.

Very nicely made. I like the way the long scale disassembles. The case is pretty useless in that the formed plastic for holding the parts is poorly designed. Using the compass requires 1) get the compass center suction point really firmly attached. Then 2) draw the circle holding the compass with only one hand at the hinge point. Takes some practice, but it's a very nice unit once you've mastered it. One thing I wish is that the marker holder attachment was designed to "hug" the marker rather than pin it with a set screw. It take an adult to tighten it enough to hold well, then the marker gets squished, but it still works. I may try to modify it to work better.

The magnets just aren't quite strong enough to hold them up where you put them, had to buy extra magnetic tape and cover the whole backing so they wouldn't slide down the board, also a bit flimsy/thin plastic, overall not really worth the price, if it was cheaper to reflect the actual materials used then fine but as it is not great quality

Me gusto el diseño de las reglas. No me gustó el espacio de la caja tan justo. Sugiero que para poder guardar el juego de reglas con mayor facilidad la caja sea más alta.

Le compas bouge pendant le traçage (instable). La règle et l'équerre ne s'ajuste pas correctement.
