I rarely leave reviews, but I felt the need to warn others — the Hydro Mousse Liquid Lawn System is honestly one of the worst lawn care products I’ve ever tried. It’s completely disappointing and not worth a single penny. Here’s why I wouldn’t recommend it: Doesn’t work as advertised: The product looks promising in ads, but in reality, it barely sprays any seed, and the liquid runs out quickly without covering much area. Zero visible results: I followed all instructions carefully, prepped the soil, watered regularly, and still—not a single patch of new grass grew. Nothing. Just wasted time and hope. Low-quality materials: The container and nozzle are cheaply made, and the spray mechanism clogged after just a couple of uses. Overpriced for what you get: For the amount of product in the kit, it’s incredibly expensive, especially when it fails to deliver even basic results. Final Verdict: This product is garbage in every sense. It’s flashy marketing with no substance. Save your money and invest in real grass seed and a quality spreader. I regret buying it, and I’d give it zero stars if I could.

Product is a joke after 12 days nothing its rained several days so watering wasnt the issue . When applied seed and chemical mixed fine still no results after 12 days

So here’s my experience. 1. I followed the directions to the T. I made very sure the ground was prepped correctly(tons of work). I made sure I put the “mousse” packet in correctly, I made sure I filled the sprayer 3/4 full and let it set. 2. It didn’t look at all like the commercial or video on the main website, it is not that thick, green or sticky. That’s why 3 stars instead of 4. 3. The green “mousse” did not cover the ground in an obvious way like the commercial and while spraying, often it would just turn clear. I ended up spraying the same places more than once because I was concerned the seeds were no longer coming out. From the bare patches I have, I was right. Once it was obvious the mousse was gone, I stopped spraying. When I opened the sprayer, there were still a large amount of seeds floating in the water. 4. I watered 2-3 times a day without fail. 5. It actually grew pretty good after the first 8 days. 6. The patch I did was about 12x14, I should have had plenty of coverage, but didn’t. A second bottle would have been the ticket, but I was basing the area on what the product said. 7. Over all, not bad. Not as amazing as the commercial, but not bad. I don’t believe for a second that what they sprayed on the board and then turned upside down in the commercial is the same product they deliver. 8. I will probably buy another bottle for a smaller patch I have. 9. Oh, I put a fence around the area for the entire time, so there was no traffic on it at all. 10. I did leave some existing grass in the area and it flourished, you can’t help but see it in the pics.

We actually tried 2 of these. WASTE of money. Did not foam, did not spread the seeds evenly at all. Some spots you could see the color variation from the spray, but the seeds were not "coated". After just a few times of watering the spots down the keep them moist- the color was gone - leaving just a few seeds sitting on the ground. I did go back through then and cover some of the spots where seeds were laying - nothing sprouted. Going back to the way I was doing it before - at least then I got some results. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND

The sprayer works for any grass seed. The grass seed that came with it - must have been old old. Have used it for better quality grass seed and it is easy to use to spray seed on bare spots. I use commercial fertilizer in the bottle with the grass seed. Soak for a half hour or so and spray the seed on the lawn. Bare spots or to thicken existing grass. Happy with the spray. Not so much for the mousse and grass seed that came with it.

It works great, but you must prep your soil first. It says for best results duh ,that's why we bought it for best results. I tilled about 3" deep and spread a bag of top soil for 100sg.ft and watered it 3 times daily for a week. After a week it's about 4" tall I wish it was thicker but its only been a week

This is not a good product! As usual with as-seen-on-tv garbage, overpriced and under-performing. But I believe in specifics when I review something so let’s get to it. I purchased this as a skeptic but, since I had soooooo much yard to regrow, I decided to give it a try. I figured if it worked, awesome! And, if it didn't I would waste $25 and then move on to more expensive or involved methods. Now, I followed the directions to the letter and within the week (I sprayed on Sunday and began to see results on Wednesday) there was, in-deed, grass growing on my formerly barren yard. However, this product is far from the miracle it espouses itself to be. Here are some specific thoughts... Calling this product a “Mousse” is just inaccurate. It doesn't create any kind of "stick anywhere gel". I have a mostly flat yard, so this was not an issue for me. But, the little slope I have in the corner saw a flow of blue/green liquid streaming down. The little vial of liquid featured in the commercial seems to now be a little pack of dry chemicals. Which would make it impossible to measure out for anything smaller than the full amount used at once. This little pack is also impossible to open without getting at least a little on your hands - and it stains. I followed the directions to wash it off and instead of dark-green my skin was light-green but it took about a week for all traces to go away. The container (probably the saving grace of this system) is actually really easy to use. I needed to use all of the included seed at once so I didn't try a measuring out a smaller amount. But, I did use the side to see that the seed and chemical were a consistent volume for what was claimed to be included with the product. The container sealed easily and the selector switch on top worked exactly as it should. The water mixed with the seed properly and turned the water blue telling me it was time to spray. I used the light seed setting in an effort to maximize yard coverage. The included seed is not a set it and forget it product. It requires watering multiple times a day - just like any other commercially available seed. So, for my second "what can I loose" try I went to the local big box hardware store and bought some of the cheapest off the shelf grass seed - a small bag of this... https://www.amazon.com/Pennington-Central-Contractors-Mix-20lb/dp/B00Q49J4N0 And filled the Hydro Mousse container with it. The seed had a blue-green coating on it and the exact same care instructions as the Hydro-Mousse seed. I sprayed the next quadrant of my yard with it and got almost the exact same result as using the Hydro-Mousse seeds and prep-solution. Same Blue-Green water from the sprayer. Same length of time when I started seeing results. Same green tint on the part of my hand that touched the seed. I also dropped some seed plain on the ground just to test a theory. The seed that was just sitting on top of the ground took 3 to 4 extra days to show results and that patch wasn't as thick. So here is my theory. The magic of the sprayer is that the light seed travels with a heavy water drop and gets slightly pushed into the soil with no extra effort from the user (no raking dirt back over the seed). In theory this makes application easier. Now, my results might have been better in the spring or fall rather than middle of the hottest summer on record, but my kid was away at camp which gave me an opportunity to try to grow grass without it being trampled on. I have been using the sprayer to seed a quadrant of my yard at a time and I am pleased with the results. It is possible that I would have gotten the same results just spreading the seed by hand or with a dry spreader, but I prefer to look at as I paid $20 for a water based sprayer and $5 for the seed.

I can’t even rate this a 1 but had to because it won’t let me post unless I choose a rating! i used this product many years ago and it was stellar! Today using it to seed a very large area I was so incredibly disappointed! It was clumping as it was distributed and there was no foaming to hold the seed to the ground! Just terribly poor product ! Do not spend your money on this!! Or the refills either! Not worth money time or aggravation!

​This spray-on lawn system was a total failure. Not only did the unit leak profusely at the joints during application, but the formula yielded absolutely nothing. To make matters worse, the temporary color washed completely away with the very first light shower. Do not waste your money.
