They Called Him Two-Gun Bob
The man who invented Swords and Sorcery. A solid collection of works.Dated, but that's the way it works. No apologies, this guy was one of the pillars of Weird Tales back in the day, one of three. Clark Ashton Smith and Howard Phillips Lovecraft.Racist, misogynistic, and at times just bad...it shows the age...there is no excuse to be made. These stories are high adventure invented in the 1920's and 30's. They are fast-paced, and one can feel the sparks as they rocket through them. This collection shows the beginning of Pulp Fantasy, the darker/weirder side of Tolkien's Lord Of The Rings type worlds. If you're into this kind of story, follow through time to check out authors C.L. Moore, Terry Pratchett, and Andre Norton.

This is fantastic.
This is a quality collection. A very affordable, well-made one-volume annotated omnibus.

Cheap. Terribly Cheap.
Copyright protections on these stories and the art expired globally, so what you have here is simply reprintings of the source material from a print-to-order outfit utilizing free print services like Amazon. If you look at Robert E. Howard's Amazon page, you'll see scores and scores of titles attributed to him made by people simply cashing in on his work with reprints while putting the most minimal cost in to maximize an easy profit. Coincidentally, a business venture Howard's own father probably would have engaged in.Anyway, it is a very cheaply bound omnibus. Opened the softcover book once and the spine is already heavily creased. It will fall apart in short order, of that much I'm certain. Printed only 5 days before delivery to my door. Because I was curious, I cross-referenced the book's biography of Howard with his Wiki page and found the bio used much of the same language to describe the same events. It reads in this portion very much like a student trying to use Wikipedia to write a biography for an assignment while changing a few things up so teacher doesn't get too wise. First sentence also isn't separated from the second by any space in the introduction. Kind of goes to show the level of effort that went in when the first sentence has an error. And don't worry, there are plenty of other errors in this big honking wad of paper. Is this really an issue? Perhaps not to the right reader. People want the stories, after all. But it does highlight, in my opinion, what you're really getting here.Buyer, certainly beware.

The best edition of Howard's Conan to date.
This is every story Howard wrote for Conan and even some of the Solomon Kane and Kull stories as well. The editor added tons of insightful information and annotations before each tale. The book also includes the original covers and illustrations from the Weird Tales pulp magazines in which the stories first appeared.I got into Conan after reading Jason Aaron & Mahmud Asrar's run of the comics from Marvel and I decided to go back and read the original source material and it's pure bliss. Love everything about it. I would kill for a Folio Society illustrated edition but until that happens, if it ever does, this is the best edition currently available.

Magnificent!
I really LOVE this book. The quality is magnificent and very well organized. I had purchased another collection of Conan stories but failed to notice that it was "independently published" and was VERY disappointed by the poor quality and the cheap, lazy layout and print quality...blurry cover image, duplicate chapters, inconsistent and sloppy layout, etc. I found this collection and I just can't say enough about how much I appreciate the quality of this book. I wish I could give it more than 5 stars and will definitely be looking for more books from this publisher that might pique my interest. I'm extremely excited to start reading!

Awesome book!
My husband was interested in this book since it contained all the works of Robert E. Howard’s published in Weird Tales, but he was being a little miserly about the price. In an attempt to buy the book for him I agreed that I wanted to read it. I received this thick volume of tales and was so surprised at the beauty of the illustrations. I am on the second story and really love the writing style of Howard.

Book is HUGE! Large, readable print too! Fantastic!
So a lot of the Conan omnibuses have tiny print, which is no good, but this one has very legible, large print with real cool illustrations to go with it! This book is just really well done, great quality (I have the softcover version).

Perfect primer for Conan
This has most Conan stories written by Robert E Howard, collected in a big omnibus. There are some missing such as “The God in the Bowl”, which was not published in his lifetime. However there’s more than enough material to make up for it. The original artwork is included also. I can tell the publisher truly loves pulp as an art.

Excelente producto.
