Good strong black tea, but usually too pricey in the US
Lifeboat makes a good strong cup of tea and supports a very worthy cause. It is unique among these standard British brands in that it is 100% Kenyan and comes from one of Williamson’s tea estates. It has good flavor, but seemed noticeably mellower than most English breakfast teas. I therefore tend to brew it a little longer than I do similar brands. Having said all that it’s price is usually too high in the US. Try to get it when it’s price drops more in line with teas like Punjana or Barry’s. I’ve never seen it as affordable as Yorkshire and, while it is different, I’m not sure it’s that much better.**Edit 16 Sep 21**On the issue of price, I was browsing teas when I noticed that this is now $15 for 80 tea bags! Quite frankly, that is absurd. Absolutely NOBODY in the United Kingdom would be willing to pay that price for any basic tea. I think I paid like $9, still very high by British standards but that is more comparable to the prices of Barry’s, Punjana, and some other British brands in the States. I’m willing to accept some price increases to get real British tea, but not that much. For that price you could get a pound of nice loose leaf tea that is better then almost any teabags (in fact, check out Ahmad’s loose leaf offerings).A quick Amazon search shows another seller offering this tea for $13, still absurd. The best deal currently is the 4 pack for 24, if you want that much of this tea. Don’t get me wrong, Lifeboat is good tea. But it isn’t worth 13-15 dollars for 80 bags. Almost no bagged tea is.**rating dropped from 5 to 4 stars entirely due to absurd current pricing**••Edit 21 Dec 22••Recently reordered when it’s price was 8.99. I’d forgotten how smooth it is and love its brightness and flavour. I bumped it back to 5 stars because of its much more reasonable price point.

My favourite tea!
This is the only tea I drink. It’s a bit stout but that’s the way I like my tea.

A rich strong dark tea.
So if you like a strong black tea then this is your tea. In my opinion it has a lovely taste, I brew it for a big pitcher of Ice tea. I also put a small bit of raw sugar into it also. When I brew it for a hot cup of tea it's dark and rich. You could easily get 3 cups of good tasting hot tea out of 1 tea bag. Also taste good with a creamer.

Lifeboat: You need this tea. So do I.
I've been drinking tea for fifty-some years now, ever since I was a wee shaver and my dad led me down the path, and since becoming an adult, sometimes I like my tea strong enough to stand a spoon up in.Lifeboat fills the bill. When you read an Agatha Christie novel where some poor soul is about to collapse from nerves, and Miss Jane Marple offers them a strong cup of tea to buck them up before she goes and solves the murder, it's surely LIfeboat she's pouring. When Prince William gets back from diving off a helicopter to save some poor sod who was drowning off of Wales, and Kate shares a restoring cuppa with him, that'd be Lifeboat. It'll put hair on your chest, a gleam in your eye, a song in your heart, and in no time at all you'll be off looking for a grizzly to rassle.Lifeboat is also lovely and relaxing on those blustery cold evenings when the wind and rain smite the windows, and my wife and I are curled up in front of the fireplace. Not to mention, a chunk of the money goes to support a fine charity, the Royal National Lifeboat Institution.I can't see a thing wrong with this tea, and that's something you can't say about much in this world.

A strong full-flavored tea.
Especially good on cold stormy days. I like that they donate to a wonderful cause.

I waste so much money trying different teas and they nearly ...
YESSS!!! The real deal! As an English ex-pat i find it is very difficult to find teas that really are of the highest quality for everyday use. This is one of them. I waste so much money trying different teas and they nearly all disappoint. I read some of the reviews on Lifeboat and took a chance (not that much of chance, i.e. 88% 5-star. My staple up till now has been Yorkshire (regular) but now I am interspersing it with Lifeboat for that really rounded, full, robust wake up tea that you've been wanting. Do I sound like a commercial? Probably; but it's because I am so pleased to have found a decent tea!

26oz Tumbler Filled twice Flavor still as good as first
I’m addicted❤️❤️❤️I’m a tea drinker and have a 26oz tumbler I fill not once, but twice and the flavor is still just as tasteful as the first cup, the newer Lifeboat tea (The yellow/gold) seems to be a product of cutting corners and trying to make more money for less product as the bags have much less, less flavor (after two 13oz cups), more money and it leaves a tart after taste. If you’re a fine tea drinker this tea is going to have you looking for a book and and throw real quick😉

Lovely strong cup of tea, but postage is ridiculous
No messing about with this one. Lovely strong builders tea, and a bit like Tetley.I won’t be buying it again, though, because the postage has gone up to ¥520
