Been using it for years; natural results that last with consistent use
I've been using Just for Men Control GX Beard Wash for years and I don't see myself stopping anytime soon, at least until my wife decides she actually prefers the gray! For anyone expecting instant results, this isn't that kind of product. It's designed to reduce gray gradually and that's exactly why I like it. I have dark brown hair but for some reason my beard has been the only thing turning gray for well over a decade and it seems like it gets grayer every year. As long as I use this once or twice a week, it keeps the gray at bay and maintains the look I want without making it obvious that I'm using a coloring product. I've had a beard for over 20 years, usually kept around 8–10 mm in length. Whenever I trim it, it's typically on a Friday night or Saturday morning. After trimming, I'll use Control GX once or twice over the weekend to bring the color back to what it looked like before the trim. From there, I usually only need one application during the week to keep everything looking consistent. One tip for long-time users: toward the end of the bottle, it seems like there's a much higher concentration of dye left compared to the shampoo. Rather than using it straight, I've found that it works much better to start a new bottle and mix in a small amount of dye from the old bottle during each use. I've been doing this for a long time and it gives me stronger, more consistent results while letting me go longer between applications. It's also incredibly easy to use. One thing I learned early on is to apply it with your palms instead of your fingertips. The dye stains your fingernails after repeated use (I noticed it after about half a dozen applications), but using your palms avoids that problem completely. Another big plus is that it doesn't irritate my skin or scalp so it should be gentle enough for people with sensitive skin. I will also mention that both the wife and daughter have been using it to occasionally help dye their eyebrows and they both have extremely sensitive skin and they've never complained about it at all. Overall, this has been an excellent product for me. It's easy to use, provides natural-looking gradual results and has become a regular part of my grooming routine. If you're patient and use it consistently, I think you'll be very happy with the results. I definitely recommend it.

Defective on arrival. Foam does not come out of sprayer and fills body/head of duck ruining it.
Works, but I am slightly disappointed. It is gradual and there is a gradual, subtle difference, but because you're constantly growing new gray hair, it isn't really that effective if you trim your beard regularly. If you have a long bushy beard and don't trim less than 1/2 inch then it will work. There are some flaws in it's concept: 1. As above: Always growing gray hairs, and when you trim, you're trimming away the treated hair revealing gray. Using regularly will help, but it's not ideal. 2. Too small of a tube. In order to see any meaningful results, you need to be using this 2 or more times per week. I've been using it once a week and have a short beard that does not require a lot of product. It has run out within a month. If you're using this 2-3 times a week, and/or you have a bushy beard, I think you'll use up the tube very quickly. Also, the tube is sort of difficult to manage because of the size/shape. 3. The gray hairs are not turning brown. It's more like dulling their whiteness to a darker gray/purple/maroon coloring. 4. The instructions say do not use your fingers to massage into your beard - use your palms, otherwise your fingers will be dyed purple. This is no lie. Fingernails particularly turn color. But this is not really OK. The method of application and environment, and the requirement of lathering it up does not really work for "palm application". You can coat your fingernails in petroleum jelly before your shower to help avoid coloring them... but...really? I think compared with the alternative of using the standard beard dye this is pretty convenient though. I do like being able to do this in the shower and not have to deal with the other mess of standard dye. Overall I'd say it does the job, but it's not exactly as easy or effective as you'd expect.

A Subtle Boost That Makes a Big Difference
I’ve been using this beard wash for a while now, and it works great. It gradually reduces the gray without making it look like I suddenly dyed my beard overnight, which is exactly what I was hoping for. The results are subtle and natural, so it still looks like me, just a little younger. It definitely gives me a confidence boost every time I look in the mirror. At this stage of my life, I’m perfectly fine with a little gray, but I also like that my beard still has more of its original darker color without it being too obvious. The gradual change is what really makes this stand out, and it’s incredibly easy to work into my normal routine. If you want a natural-looking way to dial back the gray without drawing attention to it, this has been a great choice for me.

Did exactly what I wanted it to do
Like everyone else who buys this my beard had gotten a lot of white in it (more than I was prepared to accept at the moment ;). So, I bought some beard wash and used it. My experience is pretty straight forward: the first couple of times I used the product I used nitrile gloves (while in the shower) and worked about a half-dollar sized amount into my beard then let it sit for 3 minutes (per instructions.) There was a very slight chemical heat that I noticed but nothing that was painful. I rinsed thoroughly (as per instructions) and found no staining on anything (nothing on the shower walls/floor.) After the first application I could tell a very tiny tiny bit of difference which gave me a good indication of how much and how often I would have to use this to maintain my luxurious beard in an appropriate manner (you know - trying to keep the white under control without looking like I'm trying to keep it under control.) After the second use a few days later I was already at the level I was looking for and now I use the product once a week (more like once every 8 or 9 days) to keep on top of growth of new beard hair. I've seen some of the reviews about staining and other issues which was were my primary concerns. Another reviewer stated that if you follow the instructions exactly you will have no problems and that person is correct. **just FOLLOW the instructions exactly and you should have a good experience** Now, I do not even use gloves as I have not experienced any staining at all with or without gloves. Also, the color of the product isn't some deep dark staining color and is more of like a vanilla cream look with some mixing of brown/caramel color swirled in so no dark color to really stain anything. Your mileage may vary but it worked great for me - FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS!

Effective, But Requires Patience and Caution
I decided to try the Control GX Grey Reducing Beard Wash because I was tired of the grey in my beard making me feel older than I am. After using it for a while, I have some mixed feelings, but it definitely does what it claims if you’re careful. The Learning Curve This isn't an "instant fix" product. It's designed for a gradual change, and it really does take several washes before you notice a visible difference. • Timing is Key: I usually apply it as soon as I get in the shower and let it sit for exactly three minutes. • The "Fake" Look: A word of caution-don't leave it on too long. If you get overzealous, it can discolor your skin and make the beard look unnaturally dark and "fake." Important Precautions • Staining: This stuff is potent. Be very careful not to get it under your fingernails, as it will discolor them. • The Shower & Towels: It will stain your shower tiles and your towels. Even after rinsing thoroughly, I still get some color transfer. I’ve had to designate a "special" dark towel just for my beard to avoid ruining our good ones. Results & Value I like the product, but I wouldn't say I love it. For the amount of effort and the precautions you have to take, the impact feels a bit slow for my personal taste. It does work, and the gradual shift is more subtle than a standard dye, but you have to be committed to the routine. Final Verdict If you want a subtle, non-drastic way to turn back the clock and don't mind a little extra shower maintenance, this is a solid choice. Just keep a close eye on the clock and keep a dedicated towel nearby!

Great product to even/reduce/remove the snow
Subtle, effective, hassle free, and (currently) fairly priced. But, read and take the instructions seriously. Don't be THAT smurf. I use in the shower: Wash my hair then move to the beard. Wet beard and apply like you would regular hair/shampoo except leave it in and avoid getting more water in it. Wash hands with soap/water immediately after applying. Then soap up and wash the rest of body. Come back to rinse beard at the end. (No more soap needed.) Probably 5 minutes total. Seems to get stronger and more consistent results with that setting time. Never a problem with staining (hands, feet, face, or otherwise). I've noticed that it has a very slight burning sensation while it is working and once it stops, it's time to rinse. I use half dollar size amount for a full, but short, beard (#5 or #6 on hair clippers). But, it's fine to use a more when starting out, until you get a feel for it. When I started my beard was nearly full Santa Claus while my hair was brown with a touch of grey at temples. Took about 3 or 4 times before it matched my hair. I don't see a change until the day after washing, when my beard has had a chance to work the oils back into itself though. So patience. (They sell other products for immediate color, if that's your game.) After I get it where I want it I just use it once or twice a week. It comes out as your beard grows. So, if you see yourself getting a touch too much grey, use it the next time you shower. (This package lasts me nearly 4-5 months if that tells you anything.) After a couple months I feel like the color gets too dark in the thicker parts and so I let it go 50% grey again. Then start over. I have experimented with only applying to problem areas. Seems to work, but also annoying to be so particular, and have to use a mirror, in the shower when all you want is to get on with things though. Edit -- Notes after 1.5 years of use: - I noticed that I developed a _slight_ heat rash on my sternum, and It persisted into winter. Apparently I have sensitive skin. Simple pass with soap and water on the affected area, after the final rinse, cleared it up over a couple weeks. I forget half the time and am fine. - I also use a regular beard wash (Viking brand, nothing special) on days I don't use this, to keep my beard looking and smelling nice, and it doesn't seem to affect the results or duration.

The coloring is just right, but the fragrance is a bit much.
Before purchasing this product I hadn't ever colored my hair, so I wasn't sure what to expect. The colorant splurts out of the tube kind of messily, but it's easy to tell where it splatters from the black stains it leaves on countertops & showers. Luckily they can be wiped away without too much difficulty. It also colors fingernails and scabs more quickly and intensely than it colors hair, so rinsing thoroughly is important, especially around the edges of nailbeds. It's true to its word about gradually coloring hair over time. I couldn't tell any difference after one use or even two back-to-back uses, but after 5-6 days I could tell the white patches of my beard had an earthy ashen tinge to them. It was a little greyer than I'd envisioned (starting from snow white hair), but that likely helped it look more natural and is probably a good thing. Even though it was gradual, I could still trim my beard using the narrowest guard I have and still notice an effect (i.e. it colors quickly enough to tint even the shortest-lived parts of my beard). The only real downside I've noticed that can't be solved by cleaning up properly is the scent. It has that deodoranty-smelling scent that cheap soaps & shampoos marketed to men tend to be drenched in. I don't really like my face smelling like I've rubbed a bar of Right Guard all over it. I stop noticing it after an hour or so, but have no idea how long it might actually linger. I'm still impressed by how trouble-free the coloring process, though.

Works well beyond my expectation.
I couldn't be more pleased with this product. I have some stubbornly resistant snow-white patches on my chin and chop areas that stand out like sore thumbs against my otherwise mostly dark short beard. Dyes always look like dyes and I wanted something more natural, which this delivers. In no way do I advise this, but instead of shampooing it in, I (impatiently) applied the gel directly to the white spots with a small brush and allowed it to remain for longer than suggested, then rinsed. After 4 such applications, the white has turned to a salt and pepper gray/brown and blends in MUCH better. In the pic, you can see the lighter areas, yes, but keep in mind those were white as white can be when I started. I'll add that I've have zero skin irritation, nor any color-shedding onto clothes or pillowcases, and it doesn't dry or damage the hair. Be sure to rinse thoroughly, though, as the water does have a blue cast until it's cleared out. I plan on continuing to darken, just to see, but what it's done so far is pretty great and looks very natural. I'll continue to use for maintenance, but again, I couldn't be happier with the subtle results.

WOW, sí funciona!!!
Muy discretamente desvanece y los resultados aparecen casi a la primera aplicación. Al 5° día ya es estable. Cuidado con las uñas, enjuagalas bien porque si no se quedan feamente manchadas.

Really works, if you leave it on for longer
I followed the directions of other reviewers and left the product on for longer. 10 mins at first, then 15, then 20. Once you are at the level of darkness required you only need to reapply once every couple of weeks. So super economical too! Purchased 3 box's but am still on the first after 2.5 months. Put a medium sized sandwich bag over your hand when applying if you do not wish to stain your hand/nails. Look is very natural and really winds the clock back!
