ThunderLeash Retractable No-Pull Dog Leash - X-Small

Little background about my dog first. He's about 50 pounds all muscle. He's a mut so I couldn't tell you exactly what he is but definitely some terrier possibly mixed with a dingo? Either way he's very strong in a compacted shape. He's very playful and doesn't mind going from a slow walk to a full sprint to see a friend in the neighborhood. He used to not care if he only had 16 feet he'd yank himself clear of the ground and get right back up to try it again. This lead to me goofily trying to run with him in my work atire and my poor dog choking himself. With concern of serious damage occurring I gave this lease a chance. This lease is perfect for my type of dog. He stil runs but no longer am I concerned about his neck. He has also begun to recognize the snugness of the harness as he will put on the brakes and no longer attempt to run. The lease itself feels sturdy and solid. I wouldn't recommend this for dogs that aren't strong walkers as the harness has some weight to it. I definitely recommend it to playful runners and for people who want a little more control.

I have a very stubborn puller, pit bull-american bulldog mix, and prong collars, front attach harnesses, and head haltis do not work on her. This product is very easy to put on her. It squeezes the sides by her armpits if she pulls and she finally finds this squeezing unappealing and it is the one thing that works. The one thing I wish about the retractable leash part is that it had a rope instead of flat leash. The ropes don't twist and turn and prevent retraction like the flat ones do. I only like retractable leashes for trails and when fully extended it does allow the dog to pull somewhat because you're further away and have less control. But the closer she is to me and the less extended it is, it works best.

Lease design really works great. Good dog control. I have a 65 lb. Lab who sometimes lunges for squirrels. Stops him nicely without jerking his neck. I think the reel needs a swivel connection where it connects to the reel cord. It kept getting twisted. I put a swivel quick disconnect there and now it works nice. The reel lock button works different from the other reels I have had and it takes some getting used to.

This is the BEST leash ever! My large dog (great dane/pointer) who loves to PULL does wonderfully with this leash. Regular harnesses don't work for him because he reaches down and chews the front part right off. The Gentle Leader (over the nose) doesn't work because he shakes his head and is completely annoyed. The Thunder Leash works though! Make sure you don't get it too tight around your dog's chest and I prefer doing a quick (jerk) pull, like you would with a pinch collar, rather than a sustained pull. I've gone through several of these over the years and I am very grateful that they are available. I love that it's an extendo leash too, because even at the full extension, I still have control. I can't recommend this enough. It's worth every penny.

My dog stopped pulling only when he's walking alongside/in front of me. This leash apparently is designed for pulling ONLY from when the dog is in front of you. It wasn't prepared for my dog, he goes north, south, east and west all at the same time so I often pull him back from an awkward angle. Sometimes while he's facing me, which is the worst direction by the way. it will alter the whole purpose of the leash and give your dog more room to "fight back". Otherwise I can definitely see this leash being successful with dogs that only pull ahead of you. But THEN with the retraceable tape... I'd recommend you to get the regular leash model. I was shocked at how thin the retraceable tape is. Keep in mind I got a small and the size could differ with med/L/++, so check that first before making your decision. The tape constantly twists too, it was annoying to untwist because if I don't do that, it will not slide back into the holder. If you find this helpful, please give me some kudos! Thank you!

This is a quality leash for sure but it did not help with pulling what so ever. I would not recommend this product. My dog is about 50 lbs. and pulls just as bad on a normal leash as this leash. Also, if you don't use the anti pull function on it the hardware is so heavy and not the retractable leash part is all twisted and there is a knot in it! I cannot get it to go back to normal. I hope I can return this as I am very disappointed.

This leash is amazing! Prior to purchasing this leash we had a basic retractable leash from Petco. My Rottweiler, Lincoln, pulled terribly with a regular leash and would chew on it when it was attached to his neck. We had already gone through 3 retractable leashes in a year. I had been looking at this one a while before I actually bought it. The final straw was when he pulled me down a flight of deck steps head first. I cracked my head open and had multiple facial fractures. Before leaving the hospital I purchased this leash and it was the best thing I’ve ever bought for him. Now when Lincoln pulls instead of it effecting his neck it pulls around his stomach and forces him to sit. This is much safer for him and myself. I will never use another leash for him!

To be honest, I was extremely cautious and nervous about buying, yet another, retractable leash! My dog has broken 3 of the biggest size...in his one year of life! He is a German Shepherd, and he pulls worse than any dog I’ve ever seen! So, I HAD to find something to stop him from pulling and breaking leashes. When this leash came I was so excited to try it out...and, I cannot explain what a difference it has made!!! I can actually take him for a walk and enjoy it, instead of dread it!!! Honestly, I probably would’ve paid $50 dollars for just the “no-pull” attachment!!! If your dog pulls hard...do your arms a favor and try this!
