Panasonic KX-TS3282B 2-Line Expandable Corded Phone with Data Port, Black

I ordered this Panasonic KX-TS382B 2-line phone to replace an old 2-line phone that I had purchased from Qwest many years ago. I am very happy with it. The sound quality is terrific, it installed without a hitch, and the features all work as advertised. I am using it with one landline (Qwest is the phone company) and one MagicJack. You may have seen some of the advertising for MagicJack. It has been heavily advertised on TV over the last few years. My MagicJack is connected to a DSL hi speed internet line through a router. This serves as the 2nd line and is the one I use for almost all of my long distance service. One of the features of the phone is that you can choose different ringer tones for each line. This is useful for identifying which line is receiving an incoming call. The caller ID display on the phone also identifies the caller. This phone was a bit more expensive than other 2-line phones available. But I am happy that I purchased it. It is definitely worth the money.

Very low quality phone. Cannot read the caller ID, with no back light its nearly impossible to see it. Cannot turn mute the ringer with setting it to never ring. The handset speaker quit working soon after I got it, and then the button that holds the handset broke off as well. The hold feature is very limited. After a few seconds it hangs up on the line. Very disappointed in the quality.

I got this phone to use in my home office. The main things I was looking for were great speakerphone performance and a mute button as I spend lots of time on conference calls and needed a way to simply leave them on speakerphone and mute for when I'm not actively talking. For the speakerphone portion I knew I wanted a phone that required separate AC power as the phones that try to power the speaker phone simply off the phone line power aren't very good. This phone does use the separate AC power adapter and the speakerphone works great. The speaker is nice and loud and I never have complaints from people on the other end when I am talking on speakerphone. The mute button is right along the bottom of the phone making it easy to access. My only complaint with the mute button is that it doesn't have any indication to show that it is enabled. The speakerphone button has a nice red LED light next to it to show that the speakerphone is on. It would have been nice if the mute button had a similar light to let you know when you have mute on. As it is the only indication that the phone is muted is via a "MUTE" notice on the main LCD display at the top of the phone. Unfortunately the display at the top of the phone can't be angled up at all so it lays almost flat with the phone, and at the same time it is not backlit at all. This means that the display is VERY hard to read when you are sitting at your desk. You have to lean forward until your head is almost directly above the phone in order to read the display, and thus tell if you have mute on or off. The phone allows two lines to be used and also has a conference call button to connect both lines together. It also has a headset input so you can easily attach a headset if you'd prefer to use that instead of the speakerphone or handset. The white strip down the side of the phone looks similar to a speed dial list on other phones, but that's not what it is for on this phone. This phone can actually be used as part of a multiple phone setup for your small office or even in your house if you want. You will need to install this same model of phone in all areas but once you do you can assign each phone an extension number and then call between the phones directly or page through the remote phones. This makes a nice little intercom system without requiring an actual central phone system. I don't use this feature since I just have a single phone but it seems like a nice addition. Overall I am pleased with the phone. The lack of a light on the mute button is a slight annoyance but honestly I couldn't find any other phones with the features I wanted so I can live with it. If you're looking for a desk phone with a good speakerphone then you should really consider this model.

Works well, but missing many features from our prior Panasonic phones. Seems the extra bells and whistles just aren't available any more. This model seems to have more than most out there. Example, no flashing light to indicate there are unretrieved voice mails, and you have to unplug the headset to use the handset (our old phones automatically shut off the headset when the handset was picked up). We have a fax machine hooked up to the second line, and while the line 2 light flashes when the fax line is ringing, it goes out when the fax picks up, so the light is not lit on the phones when a fax is being received or sent. Since our fax is in a separate room, this means we sometimes cause the transmission to fail by picking up the line when it is already in use. But it does have conferencing and mute features. Available ring tones (8, I think) not very appealing, and the ring volume is not adjustable: only "High" or "Low" - either so loud it will blow you out of your chair, or so quiet you barely notice it (sounds like maybe someone out in the hallway with a ringing cell phone). We opted for the low setting! Overall, very good value at the price - but would have paid more for additional features.

First of all let me say that I have use several Panasonic 2-line phones and they work decently but this one seems to have been made by someone who uses this kind of phone constantly like I do. The quality of the receiver and the base are terrific. None of that squeaky hollow plastic noise leaking into your conversation. It also has large buttons for dialing, easy to see and use features and simple caller I.D. and answering machine. I would have preferred a larger speed dial area with more programming buttons but that’s mitigated by an easy to use and access phone number storage and dialing feature. I highly recommend this phone to anyone with a home office.

I am very disappointed with the product and product support. I bought the units primairly for the intercom capability and can not get all four to communicate with each other (only three) I have been E-mailing and talking with Panasonic almost daily with no success. The individuals that I deal with appear to be reading from a script after you tell them the problem. If I still had the boxes I would return them. Very frustrating. I have several other models of Panasonic phones at home, so when I needed another, I started with them. The Amazon reviews were positive, so I got this model. I have mixed feelings about it. As a telephone, it is a high-quality device. For my needs (fairly limited), it may not have been the best choice. Here's why: THIS PHONE WOULD BE APPROPRIATE FOR A SMALL OFFICE WHERE THERE'S A LOT OF INTERCOM USE; OR IN A LARGE HOUSE WHERE ALL THE STATIONS HAD THIS SAME MODEL PHONE. The phone is as much an intercom as a telephone, and I don't need an intercom. (The buttons along the right side are intercom buttons--they are not for speed-dialing). There are a couple of features (or lack of) that some other reviewers have mentioned that make one shake one's head. The LCD display is not back-lit. Have the people at Panasonic ever looked at a cell phone? (On a cell phone, the display lights up, the buttons light up--everything lights up!). On my cell phone, I scroll down vertically to find a name, then horizontally to find the number (cell, home, or work). On this phone, it is necessary to make a separate listing for each (Tom--Cell, Tom--Home, etc.). I could go on, but I won't, because I don't want to leave the impression that this is a bad phone (it's not); but I wish Panasonic made the same phone without all the intercom stuff, and devoted more of their engineering expertise to further improving some aspects that pertain to receiving (and especially) making a telephone call.

We purchased this phone for the features, and it did not disappoint. The phone is well constructed, and the speakerphone is full-duplex so both caller and receiver can talk at the same time. At first, we thought the cord would be too short, but by stretching the cord out (holding one end of cord with one hand while pulling with the cord out with the other hand), it becomes longer than expected. The caller ID screen does not light up, but we didn't like Indigo (looks like wrist watches from the 90s) like so many others that do light up. This is one phone well worth the price!
