Review: Excellent health and fitness - I’ve found that now I’ve reached Senior status, I need to exercise more then ever. These resistance band exercises are perfect for me, along with walking. I’m pushing eighty years old, and have limited space. These exercises are perfect for my situation. I’ve developed strength, endurance and flexibility using the exercises in this book. I highly recommend this book to all seniors who feel they could use some exercise. Review: Helpful and comprehensive sets of exercises - This is a pretty comprehensive book that not only includes step-by-step instructions for each exercise, but exercise programs targeted to different needs as well. For example, there's a set of exercises the author recommends for anyone who walks or jogs a lot. The exercises are intended to balance your workout by focusing on your core and upper body. Similarly, the book includes sets of exercises targeted to help with pain and medical issues, such as arthritis, knee pain and injuries, and back pain. I found this extremely helpful since I've been suffering from shoulder pain for years and want to safely strengthen my upper body. As a few other reviewers mentioned the book features exercises that use two types of bands: the simple flat band and the tubular kind with handles. I did end up buying both types. The book also includes several warmup exercises and stretches--though you'll find them in the back of the book, which is a little out of order IMO.

A Place to start but USE IT While You read it.
This book can get you started but you will need to go way past this level if your serious or because you will feel so much better. I got this for us both, then, then, I found I was getting used to moving. It kept getting easier and I kept getting more motivated. This book is a starter and will give you some conditioning but warning here. You have to do the exercises otherwise the only one getting the workout will be your cat from jumping over the book. ANS

Well Rounded, Informative Book!
This is a very informative, 112 page book that explains more than several exercises and stretches to do with resistance bands. There are pictures with each and the book explains how to do each exercise properly and also variations and modifications in case you want to make the exercise a little more challenging or if you are not yet able to do it at the level they are showing. Almost all of the exercises are shown using just resistance tubes or bands, and either standing, sitting on a chair, or lying on a towel or (preferably) a mat. Some of them are done on an exercise ball. They could probably be done on another surface, but using the ball helps strengthen the core at the same time. After having done several stints in physical therapy for neck, elbow, wrist and lower back injuries and/or surgeries, I thought I would be familiar with every exercise in this book. However, there were several that I was not familiar with. It is actually exciting to see other variations to help keep things fresh, especially when you are in the early stages of recovery and you know it's going to be a while before you will ever be a "gym rat" again. Thanks for a well done, well rounded exercise routine!

Resistance BAnd Workbook
I started using exercise bands while taking some physical therapy for an injury. I found that they can be used to exercise the entire body so I bought this book. This book is OK. It does have a lot of exercises on all parts of the body that can be performed using the bands. The only thing I think it lacks is a description of exactly which muscles are targeted with which exercise. It is grouped into parts of the body (ie: shoulders, arms, etc.) but doesn't explain the exact muscles or muscle group. Also, there are some exercises that can only be performed using the round bands with the handles, not the flat bands that I have.

I'd buy this book again
Did this book meet my expectations? Tough question in that my expectations don't relate to reality. My expectations: to become taller and to acquire a Cindy Crawford-type physique. The reality: remaining short and discovering muscles which hadn't been used in a while. The book is a useful tool in helping me to use my set of resistance bands as I'm a novice at all this exercise thing. The photos and text are easy to understand. It's wonderful what a changed diet and exercise can do! I'm happy with the results.

this book has multiple pages of good information on body parts and the related band exercises
I have no experience with bands until I met Physical Therapy last year. In an attempt to strengthen multiple muscles as a supplement and/or compliment what the PT offered, I purchased this book and the set of colored bands. This book was ESSENTIAL. Why? Because the bands offer only about 10 exercises; this book has multiple pages of good information on body parts and the related band exercises. I am still unable to use the gym but the bands are helping me to grow stronger. You can see the difference and feel the difference- you will get a pump! As a novice user, I am totally impressed with this form of training and this book is helping me.

Good construction, good handles, nice thick bands!
Exercise bands are hard to evaluate. As anyone that has used them knows, it depends on where you put your feet, and how you’re using them. 50 pound band from one manufacturer can feel like a 40 pound band from another . These definitely feel pretty close to the weight, but I feel they’re a little bit light in weight by 5 lbs or so. But I needed a heavier set than the max 50 pound set I have and these are doing the job. I would buy them again, I just have to keep in mind that they might be 5 pounds or so off. Or, it could just be how I’m using them!

Comprehensive guide to resistance band workouts
I'm not new to exercising, but I am new to resistance band training and this is a really good introduction. Last year I was diagnosed with atrial fibrillation and was advised not to lift weights, since that can put undue stress on the heart, but to use resistance bands to build muscle instead. It's surprisingly effective: the day after my first resistance band workout, I was sore, which I did not expect. The book has very clear instructions, lots of photographs and instructions, plus it shows different techniques depending on what kind of resistance band you're using and whether you are using attachments.
