Lighted Lanterns Pre-Level: A Catholic Language Arts Program (Lighted Lanterns Language Arts)
K**A
Great quality Catholic language arts workbook.
UPDATE: I thought this was the perfect curriculum for us, but it turns out the saint stories are sometimes a bit violent for my liking. Most of the saints are martyrs, and their deaths are always part of the story. While this is okay once in a while, I would prefer to give my son more examples of saints that do things he can implement in his own life, to some degree. I don't like that my son is getting the idea that the only way we can serve God is to get murdered. We'll skip the martyr stories for a while and find some different saints to discuss. Otherwise, I still absolutely love the rest of this curriculum.ORIGINAL: I am absolutely loving this language arts workbook for my son. My only criticism is that some of the pictures are a bit blurry, especially the picture of a scapular. My son is 5 and isn't yet ready for the narrations, so we skip those for now. This book is full of wonderful saint stories, nursery rhymes, letter practice, safety information (e.g., learning our address and phone number, 911), and a cute just for fun section with jokes or tongue twisters. I am thrilled that we found such a thorough yet simple resource!
