works well
i went with the medium as that is my average shirt size and when i got it i thought hmm those sleeves are short but everything else fits perfectly. once i tried on my gloves with this and started grind some metal i quickly remembered i usually roll up my long sleeves to keep them out of the way when working so after i realized they were meant to be like that i decided i really like it. nice quality, heavyduty and yet light weight. Not to uncomfortable in the summer yet warm enough in the winter. very comfortable overall. with all the sparks and molten metal i have thrown at it i have not had any holes. I have used it for smaw/stick, gmaw/mig/mag, gtaw/tig welding and haven't been burned yet. Even when grinding i bearly feel the warmth from the sparks, and it even does a decent job protecting against flying wires from a wire wheel, i have only had 2 wires actually penetrate into the skin. After 1 hand wash it shrunk slightly but still feels like new. Ive had it for 6 months welding almost everyday and very little signs of wear. i will buy this again once this one wears out.

Light, cool, well fit. Buying my second one.
Bought this 3 years ago for my husband who welds a moderate amount for his job. Now, two snaps have been damaged beyond use, probably from grinding grit, so I'm getting him another just like it, and also the Bsx Bxrb9C 2Xl Blue With Blue Flames Welding Jacket. He likes the collar which is comfortable and protective, sleeves are good length, pockets provide good place for scribes and pens. Theres a zipper inside pocket as well. He's a big guy, and the XXL fits great and allows good range of movement. there are a few adjustable snaps for fit. Speaking of fit, we noticed that the Bsx Bxrb9C XXL Blue With Blue Flames Welding Jacket runs ever-so-slightly smaller then the jacket on this review, but still an ok fit for XXL. Also the new jacket on this review runs just a tad smaller in the cuffs then the one i bought three years ago. Best thing about this jacket is its lightweight. He welds outdoors in a variety of conditions, most of them hot, but this one doesn't cook him like his leathers do. AND, no one else has a jacket like it! Hubby note: he mentions that the snaps tend to get full of grinding grit and will start to not work well. He has also had a bit of hot metal land on one of the snaps and weld him in. :) But, for the price, a good jacket.

Must have for welders!!!!!!
I am writing this review with my husbands use of this jacket in mind. Let me start off by saying he is 6 feet tall and 185 lbs and works out, so his arms are pretty thick- now you can get an idea of his size for reference to what size jacket you might need. We ordered the large hoping it would fit perfectly and it did. He is very happy with the amount of room he has in it after wearing a t-shirt underneath. He can't wear his uniform shirt underneath because it's to thick but he said he wouldn't want to anyways, because this welding jacket is nice and warm. And wearing both would have been too warm. He is a mechanic and works in a big shop which they heat very well so he said he takes his uniform shirt off first. The quality of this jacket is excellent and he has had it now for several months and no issues. He used to come home with bright red "sunburn" looking patches on his neck, arms and top of chest above t-shirt line. But now he is safe from any skin damage. Thank you welding jacket. WE highly recommend this for EVERYONE who welds. Not to mention it should be approved to wear in ANY shop because it is classified as saftey equipment and I don't believe there is any owner/boss stupid enough to tell someone they can't wear protective clothing while welding. Hope this helped. Enjoy and be safe !!!!! If there is something I left out please fill free to ask me via the "comments to review" section. Thanks for your time.

it is a good jacket for someone doing light fabrication
it is a well made jacket it is much more ergonomic than the usual cheap welding jackets in the same rice range. the main issue other canvas jackets like this have is that they are very stiff until they break in which is annoying but this does not have that flaw. as i am a small person i had trouble finding this jacket in anything other than large which was an issue but after having it taken in it has served me well. the inner pockets take some getting used to as it is kind of a pain to have to open the jacket to take anything out of it. personally i wish these jackets had more outside pockets since i usually want my smaller tools (pliers, striker, pencil) on my person so they do not get lost and are easy to access. i found the soapstone pocket all buy useless as it isn't in an easy to access location. as for its fire protection it has protected me well so far and i have welded everything from heavy flux core and stick to tig while wearing this coat without any holes opening up in it. the collar button felt weird at first but does a good job at preventing splatter from entering the jacket. to sum things up this is a very good jacket for the price range if not the best you can buy for under $30 and if taken care of will last a lot longer than similar

Perfect light weight shirt for avoiding sunburns and splatters.
It fit perfectly. I ordered a Medium and I am 5'10" 170 lbs. Through the body it was large enough to allow me to move and get into some pretty tight places. The sleeves were long enough to cover my whole arm and for me finding a shirt with long enough arms is often the problem but this one fit very well. It was durable and held up well, but it was also not too heavy. The weight seemed just about right for welding in the heat of summer. Yes, I was hot but not too hot. I never got burned while wearing it, although I did put a couple of holes in it from being under melting slag, so don't do that too much. Overall, it was a great purchase, a great value, that I totally got my money out of it and it's still going.

Good overall jacket
Works fine im currently in highschool taking a welding course we weld pretty much everyday for 1.5 hours. So far ive only used this with SMAW and its holding up as expected. Only complaint is that its kind itchy on the sleeves. Will make an update when i start to weld with MIG Update: Ive welded in all positions in stick, it holds up started with mig the other day again its perfect. Every now and then big sparks will land in crevice of elbow and feel a slight slight burn like someone pulling your arm hair but its better than burns without it. As to the other guy who got burned by slag i dont think any jacket will protect you againts that unless its made out of leather...this is meant for up to meduim duty.

For a hobbyist, I think it's great!
Anyone looking for a welding jacket like this is probably like me. Someone who got a cheaper welder, started to weld, and went "wait, I can get sunburned?". I then browsed forums, looked up different models, and settled on this one. A few things to know, you should be aware of what kind of welding / grinding this is aimed at. This is not meant for overhead welding or anything that is going to have potential for giant puddles of molten metal to fall on you. This is meant for sparks and light slag. If you need that level of protection, you're going to need leather. That being said, this jacket works perfect for my needs. I'm just a hobbyist using a flux core welder, mainly welding standing over a bench. Fitment was good. I'm 6'2 and 175lbs. I notoriously have issues with purchasing jackets, since my arms and torso are long, but I'm skinny. For me, the medium fits great. Comes down close to my wrists, and the waist adjustment makes it fit tight. Have no issues getting the sleeves in gloves. It also comes far up my neck, which I like. A few features that I don't think I saw in the listing; There are two inner pockets (one has a zipper) and two arm pockets (would fit a normal sized pen). Overall I'm very happy with the purchase. I think this works great for a hobbyist who wants peace of mind for a low cost.

An awesome jacket. What else can I say?
I absolutely love this jacket. I'm 5' 8" and a bit chubby with broader shoulders. The circumference of my chest area is 45" and it fits nice without feeling restrictive. It's lightweight without getting hot. But, I also work in a well-ventilated area. The length comes down to crotch level and the sleeves go well into the glove area. I love the collar and it's not stiff, so it doesn't irritate. My wife says it kind of looks like a chef's coat when I wear it. LOL. I have not had any sparks cut through the material that I can tell and it seems to be holding up really well. I may buy another one, perhaps a different color, just to have on hand just in case.

Muy buena protección.
Esta chaqueta la use para proyectos de soldadura, muy resistente a las chispas del electrodo y a las chispas de corte del metal.

size fits, lightweight, yet heat resistant
fits as it should, is black, which is hard to find. Not too keen on the flame deco.
