Takane Mini Quartz Pendulum Clock Movement / Motor w/ hands & hanger 2201TA by Takane

2 months and going strong. Easy to set up and get going. One thing it recommends that seemed to ring true for mine is not to use a rechargeable battery. Couldn't get it to run consistently with one, then I read the paperwork and it says it there.

Had to replace a clock/pendulum motor in a 20 year old clock that was a gift. Ordered the same brand as original but redesigned. It arrived promptly and is installed and everything is working as good as new.

Replacement for existing battery operated clock mechanism

I used this mini Takane to replace an old larger Takane mechanism that failed because of a rotting gear (it was the first gear that rotates and the teeth literally fell off when touched). It works but the big problem is the pendulum swing. It would swing so much it would hit the sides of the Regulator clock. I finally added enough weight using magnets and steel washers to prevent hitting the side of the case. It works but it sure swings through a big arc.BTW, purchased this smaller Takane unit because I couldn't find a bigger model from Takane. I don't know, maybe all clock works are alike?

The product was nicely packaged. It stopped working the first time after 2 days. My husband took it apart again and it worked for a few more days and then stopped again. He tried one more time and it has now failed a third time. Either the second hand or the clock hands fail and it doesn't keep time. The only part that kept working was the pendulum.

About 10+ years ago, I bought an Arroyo Craftsman pendulum clock. It stopped and changing the battery didn't help. After taking the clock apart, I discovered the mechanism matched this. We've got it together and it is working, but didn't use the hands or pendulum as they were way too big for my clock. From the enclosed materials, I suspect I could have ordered just the mechanism from the seller direct.
