Great Christmas gift

Great toy for my 5 year old to tinker with. When it comes to making the suggested models they are a little fiddly for a 5 year old to do alone, also proved a tad tricky for an adult too!!

My 5 year old Nephew is really enjoying this toy needed a little help to put it together but the instructions are easy to follow.

Bought this toy for my 5 years old. He's not ready to put it together but we had fun in doing it together. The only downside is that some bolts loosen up after a few run with the car

I really tried to get this toy to work for my 5 year old. He loved it when it came out of the box and the pull back motor is high quality. That's about all the positives I can think of. As other reviewers have commented, the tools dont fit the parts and it is extremely difficult to get it to fasten tight enough. The most annoying thing though was the wheel fixtures. These lost their shape almost instantly and now the wheels barely stay on. The whole thing falls apart if my son attempts to play with it so their is only value in the fun of assembling it. For the reasons stated above though, there was very little assembling that he was able to do himself so it ended up being almost entirely built by me. We got this toy thinking meccano was a good brand known for quality. Maybe other toys in the range work better but this was a very disappointing purchase. Best to avoid.

This was a present for my 7-year-old daughter. Instructions are quite good and clear but it was very difficult to assemble. The screwdriver barely fit in the screws (I had to push the screwdriver down onto the screw to force it in) and everything gets loose very quickly. One small bang into something and the wheels fall off. Meccano is supposed to be metal of course but I thought this would be a good introduction for my daughter. To be honest, metal would have been far less frustrating for us both.

It's a lot of fun to build this with your child but the quality is low so it very easily comes apart if you play with it once it's built. After it's built it should be put on a shelf to look at
