I am having cabinets built. What size should the cabinet openning be? how thick should the bottom shelf be so the lip of the trim doesn't hang over?

My cabinet opening is 27x17 which was big enough and the trim of the cabinet is 1 1/2in and this trim was still too big. Once I sent this trim back I ended up taking back the microwave too because the dang thing was waaaay to complicated. Honestly if you have a chance I would buy the microwave and try it out before you decide on cabinet size and trim kit. Hope this helps

Does the trim kit need space below the cabinet? I have a drawer under the microwave opening and there is only half an inch from the top of the drawer
