Review: THE O'BRIEN FAMILY IS QUITE AN ORGANIZATION - This is the first book I have read by Ms Woods. I enjoyed it with one small complaint. It was rather predictable. All the characters were new to me. But, still I felt as though I knew who they were and what was going to happen. There is a huge family โ the OโBriens. The head of the family is the Grandfather, Mick OโBrien. He is a force of nature. There is no part or parcel of his family which misses his notice and attention. I liked Mick. In fact, I liked everyone in ths story. And there are many OโBriens. Almost any service that someone may need has an OโBrien who can provide that service. Carrie is an identical twin. Her twin sister is Caitlin who is married to the local doctor. But Caitlin is in Baltimore studying to become a doctor. They have a young baby who Carrie takes care of for a few days a week. Sam is a man who has come to the small town of Chesapeake Shores to work as the IT person for the local newspaper. He is the uncle to a little 6 year old boy, Bobby. Bobby;โs parents were both killed and Sam is his guardian. Sam has always lived his life as a free spirit. But, his late sister and husband have given Sam the gift of a wonderful small boy. He has no experience with children. He feels out of his element. But Carrie is a natural with children and she automatically seems to know the answers to any questions which pop up. Carrie and Sam are both wonderful people. In fact, everyone in the book is a wonderful person. They all want the best for one another. And they are family โ family is every thing. I liked Carrie and Sam and Bobby is an absolute treasure. All the characters were very human. No one is perfect, but they feel like very real people. I enjoyed the book. I am glad I read the book and I will read more books by Ms Woods. But, I think this one could have been a little less predictable.

Another heart-warming Chesapeake Shores romance
Carrie Wilson returned to Chesapeake Shores, leaving her high-end fashion PR job and manipulative boss/lover with no thought for her future. She just wanted to return home and heal. Her extended OโBrien family, however โ especially Grandfather Mick โ is concerned. OโBrienโs are vigorous and successful in their chosen careers, while Carrie hasnโt dated or โdiscovered her passionโ in the six months she has been home. Instead, she has been baby-sitting for twin sister Caitlyn and her husband Noah and welcoming all the young OโBrien children into her house. She wants children of her own. Recent transplant to Chesapeake Shores Sam Winslow is just returning from the funeral of his sister Lauren and her husband Robert โ with his nephew Bobby. Lauren and Robert had designated Sam to be Bobbyโs guardian in the case of their deaths, and he has no idea how to be the father of a grieving 6 year old. This story reflects author Sherry Woodsโ knack for weaving new circumstances and challenges into the Chesapeake Shores community and the large, extended OโBrien family. Carrie and Samโs characters are well-developed, and surrounded by secondary characters familiar to reads of this series. In true romance fashion, this as a โfeel goodโ story โ and a very good one.

A Heartwarming Story!
I just love reading about the O'Briens. I would love to live in Chesapeke Shores and every time I read one of the books I feel like I am right there in the town. Mick's granddaughter Carrie comes back home to try to figure out what to do with her life since it did not work out in France. Sam comes to town for his new job and his sister and her husband die in a car accident leaving him with guardianship over his 5 year old nephew Bobby. Carrie and Sam keep getting thrown together and the sparks are there. But will things work out for them. Mack and Susie also have their own set of problems they need to work through. The book is full of dreams and problems. Can the problems be solved and everyone's dreams come true. Read the book to find out. I loved every minute of the book and hated to see it end.

Sherryl Woods delivers another wonderful read
I loved this 13th Book ofโ A Chesapeake Shores Novels. Sherryl Woods delivered another entertaining, engaging, and hard to put down book on the Irish in America. The sense of family bonds and love make the book hard to put down. The characters are realistic and engaging. Thank you for continuing your series.

Chesapeake Shores book 13
This is book 13 in the Chesapeake Shores series and once again we travel to the town where it seems as if everyone is an O'Brien or related to the family. Mick O'Brien's dream is to have all of his children and grandchildren happily married and he is not above doing some sneaky things behind the scenes to make sure that they end up with the person he approves of. Carrie is the final holdout in the family - she has returned to Chesapeake Shores from Europe after a failed love affair and doesn't even want to think about another relationship. Along comes Sam and his nephew who he has just gained custody of after his sister died. They clash and their relationship is the main story of the novel. There is also a sweet side story about a cousin trying to adopt a baby. Its a great series and this book is fantastic. Loved it

It was nice to see some of the characters returning
Sherryl Woods brings us back to the Chesapeake Shores with Willow Brook Road. This time, it's the next generation's turn to get the meddling Mick treatment. It was nice to see some of the characters returning, though the secondary story was just too sad to be truly enjoyable. I do want to say one thing that is bugging me about this series: It seems like the ages of the children increase faster than seems should be real. It feels soap opera like in that one minute a child might be seven, then he's a senior in high school. And age differences seem to be forgotten. I'm probably being nit-picky, but it does nag at me. Otherwise, the trip back is nice.

One of the best books in the Chesapeake Shores series
This is one of the best books in Sherryl Woods Chesapeake Shores series. Carrie isn't sure what to do with her life since she came home from Paris after falling in love with her fashion designer boss who didn't return her feelings and used her. Sam is given custody of his Nephew after the tragic and untimely death of his Sister and Brother-In-Law. The 2 meet and after misunderstandings and fireworks they realise there may be a future for them both. Coupled with Mack and Susies story about adopting, the book has lots of twists and turns. Its the O'Briens at their very best and a story not too be missed. I really hope there will be another book in the series on the horizon, as well as a TV series as these books would make great TV.

Romance on Willow Brook Road
The two main characters in this romance are Carrie Winters, a confident, career-focused young woman who seemingly had it all โ glamorous career, exotic life in Europe, gorgeous fashion icon for a boyfriend โ only to have her heart broken and return to her family roots to refigure where her life was going, and Sam Winslow, a newcomer working as a web designer for the local newspaper and suddenly thrust into fatherhood due to the car crash that killed his sister and her husband, leaving 6-year-old Bobby in his care. Despite getting off on the wrong foot, they are destined to draw sparks of a different kind. In a town designed by her grandfather, Carrie is surrounded by O'Briens who all wish her well and can't keep their noses out of her business. She enjoys caring for her own nephew and other wee family members and begins to think her future might lie in that direction. And she loves little Bobby. Other relatives seem to want to mother him as well which complicates things between her and Sam. He, on the other hand, could use some help with parenting and rules and safety but sometimes bristles when others try to do just that. Lots of interesting sidebars about opening a daycare, interaction between the extended family members, and some home decorating (which I really enjoy). A character-driven cozy read you're sure to enjoy by an author who never disappoints.
