FINALLY: a side-sleeperโs story
I ABSOLUTELY thought the shape of this pillow was a gimmick, but I had gotten sick of how the Pillow Cube didnโt work if I ever turned onto my back or stomach during the nightโthat sweet 90* angle doesnโt do well on your vertebrae!โand was somehow always too high or too low of an angle for comfort. So I tried one of those โcustomizableโ pillows that is 3-in-1, and I spent a painful few weeks jamming up my shoulder in a fruitless attempt to match the high point of the pillow with the side of my head: either my neck had no support, or I was tensing my shoulder against the pillow all night trying to keep it where I needed it. Then I tried one of those โcervical spineโ pillows that looks like it came out of a sleep study in Picassoโs cubist period. No matter what, I couldnโt figure out where the makers *think* heads go or how they think necks work, because it made no sense and was even less comfortable. So I am at the end of my rope: exhausted, waking up in pain, constantly getting the crick out of my neck, and generally tired of doing battle with a bundle of cotton in exchange for a bad nightโs sleep. Itโs in THAT desperation that I say what the heck, Iโll try your dumb pillow with its bow tie shape. Itโll never work. The saga will continueโฆ UNTIL IT DID. THE PILLOW WORKED!! The indent on the bottom means my shoulder doesnโt have to fight the pillow for position. The really sturdy loft and even distribution means my neck always has a comfortable angle. The way it slightly slopes toward the bottom corners means I can lie this way and that without having to shift the pillow with me. The indent at the bottom means thereโs no pressure on my upper back if I end up sleeping face up, and an easy little space to sneak into if I end up sleeping face down. I have been a miserable side-sleeper for SO LONG, but that story is over now. This silly-shaped pillow is the answer for side-sleepers who just want a comfortable night of sleep without fighting and to wake up less fatigued. FINALLY!

The best pillow if your a side sleeper. Totally worth the money
After struggling with neck and shoulder pain for years, I decided to give the Eli & Elm Side Sleeper Pillow a try, and I can honestly say it has made a huge difference in my sleep quality. From the moment it arrived, I was impressed. The packaging was sleek, sturdy, and well-designedโdefinitely a step above the flimsy plastic bags that some pillows come in. It felt like I was unboxing a high-end product, which only added to my excitement. The pillow itself is unlike any other Iโve tried. The contoured design, specifically made for side sleepers, provides incredible support for my neck and head. I no longer wake up with that dreaded stiff neck or aching shoulders. The fill is adjustable, so I was able to customize the firmness to suit my needs. It has just the right balance of softness and supportโplush enough to be comfortable, but firm enough to keep my head aligned with my spine. Since switching to this pillow, Iโve noticed a dramatic reduction in morning aches and pains. I used to wake up feeling sore, but now I feel refreshed and well-rested. If you're a side sleeper struggling with discomfort, I highly recommend giving the Eli & Elm Side Sleeper Pillow a try. Itโs an investment in better sleep, and for me, itโs been worth every penny.

Comfortable so far
I've struggled with neck and shoulder pain for a long time. I sleep on my side and rather than sleeping on my back I tried a few different pillows. Last night I tried this pillow for the first time. I gave it a few hours to breathe and take form after being sealed. The comfort of this pillow was really nice, I woke up without any pain. The crescent shape seems helpful. For me, it appears to be the right amount of fill inside the pillow. Although I do know with this type of pillow I may need to add filling down the road because of wear. It did smell really bad last night, to the point I almost wanted to not use it. This morning I took it outside on the back porch to let it air out. This afternoon it's much better. If it still lingers tonight I'll repeat tomorrow and hopefully that should do it. I had a coop pillow before that had that smell and I did the same thing and it took care of the smell. Also, I have a satin pillow case that is rectangular shape but it worked fine with this shape, it's obviously not a perfect fit and isn't aesthetically pleasing but that doesn't bother me. Maybe down the road if I come across a crescent shape satin or silk pillowcase I'll buy it. If things change with the comfortable feeling of this pillow or I start waking up with neck pain I'll update this review. For now, it was very nice to wake up without neck and shoulder pain, I'll take the win!

Terrible smell, no loft, hard as a brick.
I bought this pillow with high hopes of relieving my shoulder and neck pain, but was extremely disappointed with it. First off there's an extreme rubber / latex / balloon odor from it even after sitting for days and putting it in the dryer as their video suggests. I have owned other latex pillows that do not have this strong of a smell for this long. The bigger issue is how flat this pillow is. In the pictures it looks nice and fluffy / puffy. In reality this pillow is barely 2" high and EXTREMELY hard - again even after fluffing it in the dryer. The solution to buy more stuffing (which is out of stock anyway) is absurd for a pillow that costs this much. I tried to sleep on it anyway for a couple nights, but woke up with terrible neck and shoulder pain. Not to mention that there's absolutely nothing cooling about this pillow either - it sleeps extremely warm. At this point I am returning this pillow and going to try a competitors pillow that is foam instead of latex. They also offer free fill for their pillow if you require more loft.

I'm conflicted on this pillow = side sleeper
I'm a side sleeper that sleeps primarily on one side only, i.e., not a lot of turning over. I think that's necessary info for others reading pillow reviews. And my preference is for high, firm support under my neck in order to keep my head at the proper angle. This pillow does not meet that requirement. The good parts of this pillow are the curved shape that allows it to be pulled fully down to provide theoretical neck support. And the bilateral shape so that you can turn either side as desired. The stuffing inside is in a separate zippered casing so you can add or subtract stuffing for customized comfort. And that stuffing does feel quite luxurious. The outer, zippered pillow case likewise feels quite luxurious - a premium fabric for sure. So, what's not to like? Well, any side sleeper of a certain age especially is looking for adequate support to keep weight off the shoulder and the head in proper alignment. For me, the height of the pillow matters and this one might could work (I'm 5'8" with a somewhat long, but not freakishly long, neck) but for the fact that the stuffing inside moves and/or compresses during the night so that there is no neck support. The insert that came with the pillow instructs that the pillow must be "fluffed" for best effect and that is true. When first fluffed, this pillow feels like pure heaven. But then, during the night, the support is just gone. And waking up to exert effort to re-fluff the pillow just wakes me fully, thus defeating the purpose of a great pillow to get a good night's sleep. I tried rolling a small towel for cervical support and placing inside the inner casing, but that really didn't work as well as I had hoped. So, the product feels luxurious and is well made and may work for you if your pillow needs are different than mine. But if you're looking for a pillow that will feel consistently supportive throughout the night, then I suggest something different. I haven't found that pillow yet and I've tried many both inexpensive and expensive. I've slept on this pillow for 2-3 weeks at the time of this review.

Best Pillow EVER!!
I set out on a 'pillow project' to search for the world's most comfortable pillow. I have a bad neck, and could not find a pillow that helped me sleep without waking up with a stiff, sore neck. I spent a couple months and tried a total of 11 different pillows. Although I tried to sleep at least several nights on each pillow before making a decision, I often found myself grabbing for the Eli and Elm pillow again before one night was even over on the other pillows. Eli and Elm was the most expensive of all the pillows I tried, so I really did not WANT to like it the best. I was hoping one of the less expensive ones would work out, but in the end, this was the ONLY pillow for me! It is very soft and comfy, yet very supportive for my neck as well. I love the way the curve wraps around my neck and back. It's like sleeping on a soft, supportive cloud. The only problem I've found with this pillow is that it's SO comfortable that I have a hard time getting out of bed in the morning! There are just some things WORTH paying for, and this pillow is one of them!!!

It Works! Buy with pillow case, but also purchase . . .
I suspect that due to the smushy filling, as your head compresses into the pillow, the filling dissipates in all directions, including the area under your neck, so that there is equal support under your neck as on your head. The photo and description is deceptive however, in that it discusses an extra portion of filler and the photo shows a pile of filler separate from the pillow. That is NOT included despite the photo and description. Set up a timed photo or have some take a picture of your sleeping position on the pillow, at eye level. If your head is tilted upward, remove some filler. If your head is tilted down, you need to purchase some optional filler material. The fitted pillow is just "okay." Neither poor quality nor good quality. Compared to the pillow, they cheaped out on the pillow case and that doesn't make sense because the contact surface is so important. I would buy the pillow bundled with the pillow case, but then use your favorite soft tectured pillow case (maybe velour) in addition. The reason to use the custom pillow case is that it provides added restriction to the filler spreading out. Their pillow case helps the pillow remain plump during all night use. A regular pillow case won't be useful for that.

Don't get how this keeps winning "best pillows" lists
I have neck issues and have been on a hunt for a new pillow. I am also mostly a side sleeper and I have seen this pillow on many "best pillows for side sleepers" or "best pillows for neck pain" lists. Turned out to be a big disappointment. First off I have my suspicions this was returned pillow. The box was taped up with clear packing tape and had some damage. The pillow had some filling fluff on the outside when I opened it up. Then there was the SMELL. I know most new pillows have a smell, especially latex. But while other latex pillows I've tried have a weird, sweet but mostly tolerable smell, this pillow smell like it was stuffed with old party balloons. I could smell it just being in the room with it. When I tried to sleep on it, it made me nauseous. Next, the fill is messy and strange. I made the mistake of taking off the outer case on my bed and all this latex powder got all over my sheets and comforter. Ended up having to wash them to get it off. That worried me about breathing that in when I'm sleeping. Lastly, the feel of the pillow itself was weird. At first, it fell soft in some areas and super firm in others. with a bit of fluffing, I was able to make it feel more consistent but it still felt strange, kind of like sleeping on pizza dough. I might have been able to get used to it, and maybe even come to like it but that smell was just too gross to keep trying. So why 2 stars and not one. I really liked the shape. It felt so good on my neck and just worked well with my body mechanics and sleeping posture. I feel super supported and cradled. Another plus was both the outer cover and the inner liner were gusseted so it didn't collapse at the edges as some pillows do (looking at you Coop Eden). I feel like this pillow with a better fill could have been perfect for me.

Best Pillow I have ever bought
After continually buying pillows that gave me a sore neck, I thought I would lash out and buy a more expensive pillow after seeing the reviews, it's the best money I have ever spent, I slept like a baby last night, the pillow is easy to adjust if you are a restless sleeper like me, it does have a slight latex smell when you take plastic off but I fixed that by airing it out in the sun, also cushion didn't come with a pillow case but the pillow will fit a standard pillow case anway,I edited comments because I wanted to add these points after having this pillow a week now and having the best sleeps, thank you

Best pillow EVER
This pillow is very expensive, but worth every dollar. My neck has never been so supported (as a life long side sleeper). Highly recommend to all side sleepers

Not bad, not great, but could be
The detail suggests the user can add or remove material to get the right fit. I did not find that. There is not enough filling for me. I an 6โโ4โ. Otherwise it really is a great pillow. The shape works well for a side sleeper. It is comfortable.

Great for Side Sleeper
This pillow is perfect for sleeping on your side. I did add a little more fill to puff it up a bit. It helped fixed a sore shoulder that I usually got when I slept with my old pillow.

Great Pillow but Need to Purchase a Pillow Case in Canada...no can do!!
I love this pillow but am very upset that after owning it for 3 months, I'm still not able to put a pillow case on it!! The company won't ship to Canada. Very annoying indeed! I can't even find someone to make one for me. I'm at a loss. Wish it came with a pillow case!!!
