Helpful combo for teaching a medium dog not to pull
This headcollar and leash combo has been really helpful for managing pulling on walks with my medium-sized dog. The Halti headcollar gently redirects my dog’s head instead of putting pressure on the neck, and the padded nose band keeps it more comfortable so it does not interfere with panting or drinking. The matching training leash with two clips gives extra control points and different length options, which makes it easier to practice loose-leash walking and adjust quickly in busier areas.

Finally, something that works!
My female Shepherd x Golden Retriever mix is quite powerful and a bit stubborn. She’s smart and wants to please but I have to be able to manage her on walks because not everyone wants to stop and give her back scratches! As is often the case, her pulling became the norm and it began making walks or going places I could bring her to frustrating. I used to make leashes that worked wonderfully but my girl would rear up like a horse and use her front paws to pull the climbing rope/lead rope material right off her nose. The bridge of their nose is such a sensitive spot that it’s too much stimulus for some dogs. I love this Halti because it works like the leashes I made but it’s much more refined, has the soft cushion lining under the nose piece, it’s high-quality, lightweight, and fits great. My girl isn’t able to slide it off (as long as it’s properly adjusted so it’s snug but not tight). Even though she doesn’t like it (it’s only been ~1.5 weeks of use) she’s so easy to work with now. She understands a great deal so I can communicate what I want and need to her when I’m not putting the majority of my energy into just keeping her from pulling me over or running to see another dog. The one caveat I want to share is that this may not be right for every dog. I have a (formerly feral) medium size Australian Shepherd mix who simply couldn’t use it because of his history, specifically when he was caught because they used a long rod & loop to catch the dogs in his pack. He panicked when I put it on him and it was very clear it was not going to be educational or provide a better means of communicating with him at all. I would look at his case as an outlier. Hopefully this review provides some insight into the product design and how it may be the thing that, like me, you’ve spent years looking for. I’ve tried just about every type of humane anti-pull system out there over the years and can wholeheartedly recommend this specific brand and style of head collar!

AMAZING!!!
I just received it this morning, which arrived fast. I took my Loki ( Husky, German Shepard, Great Pyrenees mix) for his first walk using this. It is a GAME CHANGER!!!!! Before this, he used to pull me and go crazy when he'd see another dog. I mean to the point of almost pulling me face first onto the ground and also hurting my arm. But, with using this there was NO PULLING, not even when he seen another dog. For the first time, I was able to walk within 10 ft past another dog with him. I can't recommend this enough! If you have a dog who pulls or goes crazy anytime it sees another dog, get this!!!

Did not help for my dog, no muzzle adjustment
This did not work for my dog at all. I don't know if something was missing ( I think I got a used/returned item) but there is no adjustment to tighten the part around his muzzle. I tried to rig it to tighten it up but within a minute he would have it pushed off his face. Even for the brief time it was on it did not effect his pulling on the leash. On a positive note it does look durable and well put together and it's nice it comes with a leash as well.

Very effective, but straps slip too easily
This has been a HUGE help in getting my dog to stop pulling. She is an 80lb pitbull puppy who is clearly mixed with some kind of hound. My pittie-mix would stop multiple times on a walk, sometimes multiple times within a few yards, sometimes planting her feet and refusing to move. While it was a great upper body workout for me, dragging 80 lbs for a mile or two is not much fun. The head harness has really changed that and is giving her a clearer idea of what I want. I love the limited-slip design which means if she's not pulling, the harness is loose and comfortable. This draws a clear line between good walking behavior and bad walking habits. She is so much better and we now have fun on our walks. I took off a star because the strap fabric is too slick. I tried to use the harness to keep her from jumping on someone. With just a little resistance, she was able to loosen up the straps and escape the harness. Luckily, her main control comes from a body harness. But still.. yikes! I'm going to tack down the strap with needle and thread. But beware if you plan on this being your only control method for your dog.

This thing is a lifesaver
My dog used to be soooooooo good on a leash, never jumped on anyone, etc. Then he got to be an adolescent and all of that training went out the window. Of course, he also got a lot of bigger, and is now an 80lbs Malinois/Dutch Shepherd mix that values play more than treats, so when he sees other dogs he gets way too excited and starts to lunge toward the park, and he could care less about any treat I have. A few weeks ago he yanked me so hard on his leash that I slammed into an electrical box bruising my arms and because I held onto the leash it injured my hand. The entire back of my hand bruised and I could hardly use it. At that point, I knew I needed to figure something out on how to re-train him, but he’s just so much stronger than me and at this point I can’t control him with force alone. I want to be a responsible pet owner, but nothing was working so far. Someone on Reddit mentioned this halter and oh my goodness, it actually works!!! It’s loose enough so that he can eat, drink, pant, etc but as soon as he pulls it gently tightens around his snout and stops him in his tracks. It wasn’t hard to put on him, as I grabbed some high value treats(same person on Reddit recommended freeze dried liver) and trained him to associate wearing it with the good treats. When he tries to pull he’s not a fan of it, but the difference it’s made is staggering. I’ve tried every no pull harness you can think of, but this is truly a game changer. I can now take him to the park, to the pet store, anywhere I want and have full control over him. I’m so thankful for that random redditor. If you have a large breed and are having trouble controlling them, BUY IT. It’s worth it. Probably one of the best purchases I’ve ever made.

But for your puller or puppy
Very high quality and the nose is padded for comfort. Easy to size and put on my dog. Way better than other companies

Fabulous
I’ve used Halters before on previous dogs, however it’s been a generation since I needed one. With my current Labrador puppy, I really persevered working on loose lead walking and in theory he ‘got’ it, but he was also all over the place whenever he was stimulated in the least, we also had issues with him scavenging anything he could off the ground in front of us. The vet nurse in me shuddered every time I had to pull a gumnut out of his mouth as I mentally reviewed his insurance in case of intestinal blockage and surgery. Finally, at 9 months old when we got to the point I was actually dreading walking him, I put him in a halti. Absolutely the BEST decision. Now my boy strolls along beside me, occasionally turning to sniff or watch something quite happily then return his attention to where we’re going. He’s aware of me most of the time, our groundwork stood us in good stead & I usually just need to stop walking for him to stop moving ahead of me, but the big difference is that when I do occasionally need to redirect him, he actually listens. Now our walks are pleasurable, he wags his tail constantly & watches up at me occasionally looking for approval, I enjoy our camaraderie, and we get many compliments on what a lovely dog he is as he shows off his delight in being a good boy when people pass us. This is not a replacement for training, nor should it ever be used forcefully, but when used appropriately it is a game changer. I’m finally feeling bonded with my lovely dog, and giving him the happiness he deserves. We’re even learning hand signals for his commands, and venturing to busy areas such as shopping centres (outside) to work on his reactivity under heavy stimulation, all very successfully. Finally we’re set up for success and I couldn’t be happier. PS the lead is fabulous too, soft and a great length, love how adjustable it is
