Fernco makes great products. This is no exception. Perfect for over the hub to pipe repairs. I've used 1 1/2", 2", and 3" versions of this coupling.

My friend had a old'old terra-cotta pipe leaning-sideways near his front steps. Upon a digging a little, the 3" clay pipe was broke at the collar and leaning. I dug around it, cut the broken female collar off with a diamond-wheeled grinder, and used this Fernco Repair coupling to attach a piece of 3" Sch.40 pipe. It fit perfectly over my heavy-wall terra-cotta pipe, and made a solid connection to the new ABS pipe. Didn't want to search the big-box stores, because this item can be hard to find. Yes, plumbers will use these from time to time, but I doubted my local store would have them. The Fernco came on time. My friend is happy, and so am I that I got it done quickly. I would buy again.

This piece made transitioning from the old hub & bell style cast iron pipe to PVC an easy deal. I had an existing 3" cast iron "bell" / socket that was about 1/3 buried in the concrete wall in our basement that I needed to transition to 3" PVC. It took some hammer drilling and chisel work to get enough concrete removed so that the fitting fully seated. Because the surface of the cast iron was less than perfect I applied a thin layer of silicone on the inside of the fitting to ensure a good seal, torqued the clamps and it has not leaked at all. Great product.

This connection fixed a nasty plumbing leak.
