Bosmere L451 Irrigatia C24 Automatic Watering Irrigation System, Solar Powered Plant Waterer

I'm not understanding the negative reviews at all. I bought this 2 years ago and the thing is amazing. I have a small garden (20 plants) and it has been more productive than ever before! In fact, I'm buying a 2nd one this Spring to irrigate some hanging baskets and other flowers around the patio. From time to time you might run into minor issues, but if you read the website and other troubleshooting tips they are easily fixed. For example, my pump wouldn't kick on after being put away for the winter (kept inside). I read some reviews and used the included syringe and sprayed some water into the inlet and poof, it worked like a charm again. I would highly recommend this product if you want to get the most out of your garden!

Like some other reviews, the pump on the unit quit working two-three weeks into use. I emailed the company (in the UK) and a replacement pump was sent with no trouble what-so-ever. We'll have to see the longevity on the replacement pump to see but, the product works as advertised and considering that fact, I would recommend.

Literally, for the plants. I ran this from our rain barrel to our hanging baskets. We travel quite a bit, so keeping hanging baskets watered and alive is a challenge every year. This thing solves that problem in spades. Honestly, my biggest complaint is that it works TOO well - the watering frequency is determined by how much sun it gets, and in July/August, this gets so much sun that it could probably run half as often without any trouble. So, my advice is, unless you live in the true desert, place this somewhere that only gets half a day of direct sunlight. The only other thing to be aware of is that the pump isn't quiet. It's not terrible, but you can definitely hear it from 10-20 yards away, including inside the house if it's attached to an exterior wall (maybe this would be better if the wall was wood-frame, rather than brick/masonry).

I purchased this Bosmere L451 Irrigatia C24 Automatic Watering Irrigation System, Solar Powered Plant Waterer via Amazon and it worked really well for about 2 - 3 months. Code 80 keeps coming up - the machine runs but the system is not letting water go through to the plants. I have called the company at least twice and only got voicemail. My calls and messages have not been returned. It is very disappointing as the excitement of using this device has withered as did my plants. I am hoping that Bosmere will respond satisfactorily to this post.

My setup consists of two 55 gallon rain barrels joined together by PEX A pipe and fittings. Rain barrels are placed on a well constructed pressure treated lumber stand 28 inches above plants. Plants (10 Tomatoes and 3 Squach plants) are in grow bags. The plan was to use this device and good old mother nature to power the pump to water my relatively small garden... "What do I Dislike now that I have spent 225 on this unit and 2.5 hours just dealing with the solar pump setup?" Short Answer "Everything" 1. Ordered the 24 unit device, yet only received enough fittings and hose setup for 12 plants. Ran out of hose quickly only to realize another dislike - see item #2 2. Tubing is much smaller diameter. Must be and EU thing. Virtually impossible to attach commercial big box irrigation fittings. 3. Not enough pump capacity to effectively water no more than 4-5 plants if that. Being an engineer, I really wanted to embrace this whole solar thing, but this experience only just reinforced my reservations about the whole solar hype, it's just hype. Reverting back to my tried, true, and proved method barrels and submersible pumps.

I wanted to love this solar pump. I’ve bought 4 of them in the last 5 years. This summer I went to set them up and discovered out of the 4 only 1 works. I bought new batteries and still they no longer work. We have a short growing season so they were only used for 3 months and after less than 3 years quit working. I ended up buying a small cheap pump for $30 that works every bit as well as these do. If I have to throw it away after one season I’m ahead of the game.

Perfect. Bought this for our rain barrel to irrigate 12 plants in our raised bed. Setup was fairly easy. I had to use the syringe to prime it initially as described in the manual for first start troubleshooting. It is great that it comes as a kit with all necessary pieces. It has worked flawlessly for a few days since. Will update if I have issues. Honestly.... I bought a refurbished model here because I wasn't so sure it would work based on some bad reviews online. Looking back thru them I'm pretty sure a lot of people are buying them expecting something much different and bigger. If you have something like a rain barrel and a small vegetable garden this is awesome. Look at the recommended number of spouts and distance, I'm pretty sure if you exceed it this won't work well. It is well tuned for what they give you. I was really surprised how great this is and how well it works. Im not a review person but this thing made me want to.

This works very well. I have two rain barrels each set up with this watering system and this was the fourth kit I've bought. Overall, it's been great. The system pump lasts about 2 years though before they die so just be aware of the average lifespan. But, it certainly saves time and trouble.

I set this up for my tomato plants in a greenhouse in Alberta Canada and it watered on and off all day! I had a neighbour check on my garden when I was gone for a week. After I got back, she brought her friends over to tour my tomato jungle room! With the consistent watering, this product helped get some of my indeterminate plants to 9 feet! Extremely happy with it!! Glad I purchased two!

Benutze das System auf meinem Balkon um Kübel, Kästen und Töpfe zu bewässern. Das funktioniert ausgezeichnet! Das System kann wirklich jeder aufbauen auch ohne Anleitung. Habe mir eine 300 Liter Regentonne mit aufgestellt aus der ich das Wasser entnehme. Das Funktioniert auch wenn man 2-3 Wochen weg ist zuverlässig. Die Tropfer war ich mir nicht sicher und habe noch welche von Gardena dazu gekauft was aber absolut nicht nötig ist und diese bringen auch keinen Mehrwert ausser dass man kann die Tropfmenge dann nochmals geringer Dosieren kann, dafür sind sie gut. Alles in allem Würde ich es jedem empfehlen der eine Zuverlässige Wasserversorgung für seinen sonnigen Balkon braucht auf dem auch 3m hohe Bäumchen versorgt werden müssen ;) Große Büsche,Bäumchen,Tomaten,Gurken,Reben und Blumenkästen... es passt für alles

This product is kind of a genius idea really. It works very well and requires very little hands-on tinkering. I've been using it for a couple of months now and it's kept my hanging vegetable and flower planters well watered even during a prolonged heat wave on the Canadian prairies. My only complaints are that the system (c24 version) is quite noisy when in operation. It turns on about every 3 hours on a sunny day and hums loud enough that I felt bad for my neighbours when they were outside near it. I googled "Irrigatia noise" and found a how-to video on how to cure it. Shoutout and thanks to Anders S for a great video. It's a bit of work and will void your warranty, but now the pump quietly purrs. I felt that there could have been more hose and drippers supplied with the kit, as the c24 will water 24 plants. If the hum isn't a problem for you it's a great system and spare drippers and hose as well as spare parts are available straight from the manufacturer.
