So far it has held its shape and held up against the chewing of a puppy!

In the photos it appears to be a firm (ish) mat. what was received is NOT nearly as filled or firm. It has more the thickness and squish of a comforter.

My dog has always liked sleeping in the bathroom - go figure - probably because of the tile floor, cool in summer and there is a floor heating vent for winter. Since she is older I bought her this pad for her aching bones. Not knowing if she would like it I was quite surprised to find she loves this pad. So much so that during the day I have to move it to the living room where she rotates between the sofa and the pad. To satisfy her nomadic lifestyle Ive purchased one more pad so that now she has sleeping quarters in several spots in the house. Some reviewers dont care for this pad - I dont know why - it is nice sized, soft, a backing that permits it to lay in place and it has a nice design pattern. My advice, take a chance with this pad. And if you dont like it, send it back. But I bet your pet will love it.

Bought one for my two small dogs. My two cats took it over right away so I ordered another. Everyone is happy and they love it. Haven't washed them yet.

I bought this mat for our new puppy. The colors in the mat are beautiful and it is super soft. However, after washing first time stuffing became all bunched up in the middle, very disappointed.

My dog loves it and so do I. I love the design, it’s very soft, nice quality and super easy to clean. Plus my dog likes to scratch. That’s why I bought it, so she scratches it instead of my carpet. It has held up very well. Definitely recommend it
