Are these compatible with macbook late 2008? model macbook 5,1 or a1278

I really don't know. Sorry. They fit perfectly with the A1278.

Does it comes with the subwoofer as well?

I am not sure, it is a complete set (for both sides). I installed only the left side which was easy to put in, the right side is more involved for which you have to take a lot connectors out. I did not take the risk since sound from one speaker was OK that I can bear with.
