Great Little frame
I have every frame K's makes and this one is just as nice as the others....perfect for traveling and small projects.

Great relief on your hands!
It's really easy to put together and start using. A pretty simple concept; just clamp your hoop/frame and start stitching. I love using it so it doesn't strain my hand, and it allows me to stitch for much longer. You can adjust the angle of the clamp and the angle of the whole arm to suit your needs. I use it on my table, though you can certainly use it on your lap. This stand is a little light for my taste, but for a small stand it's kind of expected. The base is nice and smooth, but I find that the arm was made pretty roughly and isn't completely sanded down. I don't know much about wood but the clamp is a little soft; I've only used 1 hoop with it so far and I didn't think I clamped down very hard, but it still left some impressions on the wood. Not a really big deal, but something I wasn't expecting.

I'm returning this item. Even forgot I had it. I used it one time to try and make some cross stitching and I just wouldn't stay on my lap. When I tried to put it underneath my leg or thigh the corner piece would poke my leg which made it super uncomfortable (and I'm a 5'1'' 120 lb girl. My legs are not that big). I didn't give it one star it as it did help my hand from cramping.

Certainly helps me in my stitching!
This lap frame is good for small stitching projects that eases any hand cramps that come from holding stitch work in hand. You can use either Qsnaps or wooden frames with the La Petite lap frame.

Not Worth the Money
I don't know who's lap they measured, but 10" is not enough room for your thigh plus room to stitch. Even my cross stitching husband who is a skinny guy, had trouble. We bought our own piece of wood and had to drill our own holes to make it taller. The block of wood sticking out on the bottom is super uncomfortable as it digs into my thigh. It's a great concept and I like using it (other than my thigh being poked) but it is NOT worth $38. Seriously, save your money and make your own with scrap wood and a binder clip.
