I had an old full-size Waterpik from the 1990s that finally had to be replaced. I like that this one is compact and takes very little horizontal or vertical space on the bathroom sink. The power is almost as good as the old one (the #2 setting on this one matches the #1 setting on the 1990s model, and the higher settings on this one are quite powerful). I find the 15 oz. tank sufficient for a single use (if you need more, you can just refill it) and don't miss having a lid because it doesn't splatter, and I like being able to invert the tank afterward to save space. As for the noise complaints, I find it slightly less noisy than my very old model (I can listen to the radio while running it which I could not with the old one). I don't plan to bring it for travel; while it's smaller and a bit lighter than the full-size model, it still seems a bit heavy, and the case purchased separately costs as much as the appliance. I had a smaller travel model many years ago which I didn't keep; this one works better than that one did. Note that this model does not have dual voltage. The child's model looks very similar (the switches are a bit different and it has fewer speeds) and has dual voltage so it may be more useful for international travel. I'm a big fan of the Waterpik because my cleanings are better when I use it. The quality of the old one was superb considering how many years it lasted, so I hope this one will be just as good.

This looked like an affordable device, so I got one to try out. It came with enough styluses for a few purposes and people. It's easy to use and the water pressure is impressive. I don't have it on full force because it's pretty strong! When I use it, I can see a lot of little things flowing out that I didn't know were wedged in my teeth or gums. I've been liking this enough to get those rear wisdom teeth that I ordered some new accessories. My rear wisdom teeth are so far back that they're partially hidden. Removing them would be brutal, and flossing them is almost impossible. This really helps. There is a plastic reservoir that acts as a cover for the unit. Lift the "cover", invert it, fill it with water, and plug it into the top. When it's in place, a small valve opens up and water is fed into the unit. I had a problem with mine and when I put water in, it would start slowly streaming out because the valve wouldn't close properly. I'd get water all over the sink. I looked in the back of the instruction manual, and there was an actual 800 number listed for customer support. So many places don't want you calling and only give a website or email address. It was nice to see an actual phone number. I called and was only on hold for a minute before I was talking to someone. I explained the problem and she put me on hold while she looked up the availability of sending me out a new reservoir. It turns out that a small spring closes the valve when the reservoir is not inserted, and the spring was not properly resting in its chamber. While on hold, I noticed it was a little off, reached in with a toothpick, and popped it back in place. That fixed it. When the woman got back to me, I told her I fixed it and didn't need her but thanked her for her great assistance. It was GREAT that the company gave you a number you can call with issues and have people that can help you quickly. That's very good customer service!

I’m new to water flossers but after six months I am a big fan. My teeth are packed too tightly for traditional floss. This works really well and leaves my teeth feeling super smooth, like after a cleaning at my dentist. It has reduced my gum inflammation and my dental hygienist is very pleased with how little plaque I had. I use it at the highest setting and a 15 oz tank lasts 1.5 minutes. I use two tanks a cleaning. I’m glad I went with a plug-in…it’s a lot more powerful than the rechargeables. It took me a couple days to figure out how to use it without spraying everywhere and a week to build up to full power. I bought a cheap model because I wasn’t sure I’d like it. I’m happy with it, but I will buy a more expensive model after this breaks because it is REALLY loud. I agree with another reviewer who said it sounds like a cheap sewing machine. I live in the southeastern US where it’s humid and I did have a problem the first month with buildup of pink mold on the outside of device. I fixed that by making sure to drain the hose after use, dropping the wand and tip into the tank instead of the stand, and putting the tank next to the base instead of on it (see photos). In a humid climate like mine, the ability to turn the tank over and put it over the base is best saved for packing the device for travel. I don’t understand the complaints about the tank not having a lid. I keep a drinking glass next to my sink and I don’t keep it covered, why does this need a cover? I use the flosser almost every day, when would it have a chance to get dirty? It’s also super easy to rinse or wash it out. Maybe it would be a problem if you use a lot of hairspray.

I prefer this Waterpik to the full size version. The only issue is the noise -- it sounds like a tiny jackhammer -- but I've gotten used to it. The pressure is great, it's easy to pack and easy to clean, and it takes up very little space.

I like it, my gums are prone to issues so I get 3 cleaning per year. My hygienist recommended this. I used it almost every night recently, sort of alternating with flossing. I like the little flossers. Water Pik is actually easier than flossing. I use warm water as suggested and fill the water tank nearly to top each session. They dry everything, also by lifting unit high up, take out tip and stretch long coil over sink so water can drain out of tube. For power, it's good, I go just a little below the max setting or at max. I hope my hygienist sees improvement. Stay tuned. My only complaint is the part you hold in your hand does not really fit in the round holder on bottom left. It likes to pop out. 5-2025 update: my hygienist was impressed with results, after only 4 months. So I Waterpik most nights before bed and finish off with alcohol free purple mouth rinse. Purple types have fluoride, check the labels.

It arrived in a timely fashion with an extended built in warranty. The instructions are easily understood. When instructed to run water at highest level prior to initial use, it worked just fine. When I tend to use it when water washing me teeth, at highest level, it leaks from the wand. Not okay. I am considering returning this item.

You should be aware that this is a small water pic. Exactly what I wanted to travel. My little one that came with my larger water pic, quit while arguing with European electricity. Had purchased one of the hand held ones and found it awkward to hold and use when it was full of water. This is a perfect size and fits in the little ones carry case. It does not have all the dials and adjustments of my larger water pic but it certainly does the job and it was significantly cheaper.
