Great Content, Bad Execution, Great Customer Service (UPDATED)
139 pages in so far and the content is good and moves at a nice pace with practical examples. One pretty frustrating detail is that you either need a magnifying glass or gifted with near-sightedness because ALL examples are micro. You’ll see in the photo that about 5 rows of details make up about the width of my thumb and the print quality is just not made to be that small. VERY difficult to use the examples and the same issue is persistent across the whole book.UPDATEI originally gave 4 stars due to not being able to read the tiny examples in the book, while this is still an issue, the author's team reached out to me post my review and provided a PDF of the book with the screenshots in color. If you can verify your purchase you can contact the seller and they are very responsive!

Great for business practitioners
Given that there aren't many resources available for learning Adobe Analytics (unless you have access to AA or are an Adobe partner), this is an extremely valuable resource. AA is notoriously hard to learn and get your arms around. And this book helps to guide you through the important concepts and implementation details. However, don't expect to see even a single line of JavaScript code in here or any serious discussion on tagging or tag management. The presentation is purely directed at a beginner to intermediate level business practitioner (if you don't know what that means, review Adobe's standard definition of roles and responsibilities when it comes to implementing and using AA).That said, the book is very current (as of December 2019) and focuses on the important features (e.g. Analysis Workspace) and doesn't waste time on obsolete tools (e.g. Ad Hoc Analysis, which is being sunset). The challenge, though, is that many clients use those "obsolete" tools and so you might need to know some of what goes on under the hood, which this book does not cover at all). Finally, this book attempts to use modern, industry-standard practices that AA is continuously working to create, refine, and adopt. However, until the adoption of new practices takes hold, it could generate some confusion among practitioners who are accustomed to older terminology and paradigms that their current clients are likely still using. Therefore, in the interim, I recommend Adam Grecos's SiteCatalyst Handbook as a compliment to the Dummies book. Although it was published in 2012 and is getting long in the tooth, it contains plenty of JavaScript code fragments, legible graphs & pictures, and coverage of older tools such as plugins and VISTA rules. All things that the Dummies book neglects to cover. (It should be noted the Greco does not cover Ad Hoc Analysis, tag management, or DTM. The entire AA landscape is perhaps just too vast for one book to cover.)

Comprehensive and Approachable
Matisoff and Karlins break down one of the most complex digital marketing tools into easy, learnable, and practicable lessons. I use this as a reference book, which means I have not read it cover-to-cover, but use the chapters I need at that moment.

Color & Large Graphics Would Be Better
Content-wise, the book is OK. TBH, I got more out of Adobe's YouTube channel and Summit videos. But what irked me the most about this book was the use of black/white images. Not only were they too small to read/understand, they were illegible. The choice made no sense, particularly for a book centered on analytics, which is very graphical. I really think the publishers made some very poor choices, which ultimately took away from the content. I also think there needs to be more time spent covering the basic differences between Adobe & Google, as well as more time around products like Launch vs. Tag Manager. For me, this book is a disappointment.

Good info, Bad as a Book
The info inside is great. I like how it breaks it up into bite-sized learning. The examples and language seem to reflect the most current product versions of the tool. My issue was only that the pictures in the physical book are so small and really unreadable to the naked eye. Others have pointed out there are PDFs, but I didn't buy a paper book to go online to consume the info. Authors - keep up the good work with the content. Book decision-makers - pay for more paper and increase the size of the photos/example.

The most updated intro to Adobe Analytics
I bought this book for a team of junior analysts that are starting to use Adobe Analytics. I ended up learning new things myself since it includes Analysis Workspaces which older books on Adobe Analytics will not have. Very well explained going beyond and not just a click guide to using the UI.
