Can these be used "backwards", to angle the speakers downward from a shelf that is above my head level when seated at my computer desk?

In theory, yes the only problem is that the lip that stops them from sliding backwards could potentially obstruct the bass port muddling your sound a bit. Never tried it but, seems plausible.

Does it fit the A2+ speakers?

Yes, I have the A2+ speakers and they fit perfectly. The sound quality was definitely improved with these stands as opposed to just placing the speakers directly onto a desktop surface.
