Great product ....for the right engine lol
Well, I ordered this without further checks for my 2014 Jetta 2.0l engine, non-aspirated. So it's plane Jane. This Jetta engine does not have this type of PCV arrangement with this diaphragm. Wrong part. Wrong Amazon message that it supposedly fits my car...it does NOT. For those who have this engine type double-check your arrangement. There is a PCV tube ($58 from OE VW dealership) and it goes to a valve that's fused on the air intake pipe. If this valve is defective you have to replace section of the pipe ($225 from VW list price) from the throttle body to the inactive section of the air intake pipe that's connected to the air filter housing. I have random misfiring and as I have changed a few other parts the codes have changed. I replaced already the crankshaft position sensor with original Bosch part ($40) and the MAP sensor (Bosch $20). I wanted to change the PVC valve (apparently the entire air intake section with fused on valve for $225 )and also the purge valve (Bosch $20). Still waiting for the purge valve. My vehicle has 200,000 miles on it so replacing all of these is no big deal and needed to be done. It ran flawless for 200,000 miles until the EPC light came on (in conjunction with the check engine light). With this I also replaced the spark plugs. I can drive (it helps that it's manual) but have ~70% of the power which means it's a drag (no torque). I will replace the air intake section with the valve only if the purge valve doesn't fix the issue. It's a pain in the Ar** to find good experienced info on this. I am looking for a second car because of my mileage but the engine is still a good shape. I will fix this. Any ideas, let me know. I will post the final fix here and on a forum. Replacing the parts I have so far is just necessary anyway after 200k miles. the final fix was the ignition module. 100% power back. i have now 225k miles on it and really, my car has more power than ever like new plus.

Easy Fix; Great Value
My B8 A4 with a 2.0 was throwing P2187 and P2279. It was also running ruff at idle; with occasional surging. Googling around I found a youtube video where the dude showed me how to test if it was the PCV or not: open the dipstick and see if breaks a vacuum. Sure enough that did it, so I ordered this part. Getting the old one off required a bit of violence, make sure not to break the PCV. Once that was done, this installed in 30s. Inspecting the old one, the failure was obvious. Cleared the codes, and I'm good as new...ish Love fixes like these :)

this piece of garbage part lasted only 2 months this time
I sure hope this one lasts longer than the one I installed in august of 2017. It lasted approximately 5 months then the car started throwing a check engine light. When I took off the cover it turns out that the rubber diaphragm itself was torn apart! These are NOTICEABLY THINNER than the OEM PCV diaphragm. I wish I could find a source for the OEM version of this. It's cheap for a reason; it's not meant to last. EDIT: this piece of garbage part lasted only 2 months this time! Look at the pictures that I added. This shows both that failed. The second one that I purchased appears to have been turned into "foam" or "ash" by the oil/fumes. I am now in the hole $42 from amazon for these and $30 for buying one local the other day so a total of about $72!!! The whole valve cover is only $100!!! Unbelievable GARBAGE quality on Dorman on this part. Well, not sure what I'm going to do in the long run, but I purchased one locally for $30 with a "lifetime warranty". So, my short term plan is to just keep returning it when it "blows out" until I get so IRRITATED that I buy the whole valve cover. All I can say to Dorman is get ready to be giving these away through warranty every 2-5 months. I feel VIOLATED by this garbage. And, of course, the return window expires only a month out so even in the case of the second one lasting 2 months, I still could not get it replaced. Amazon needs to PULL THIS part from inventory until Dorman owns up to the fact they it is INFERIOR to the OEM part.

Blue smoke change your pvc!!!
Car started blowing blue smoke but I noticed it was happening on and off. I had my doubts about it being caused by the pvc. I ordered it and in less than 5 minutes installed it. Instant results! NO more blue smoke. Amazing!

Audi a3 2009 ccta tfsi 2.0 fit like a glove and fixed my problem under 30$
After noticing my engine wouldnโt be affected when dipstick or oil cap removed. I order the dorman kit. Arrived surprisingly fast in 2 days. Install is easy and the product seems to seal and fit pretty good like Oem. I would recommend the use of pick tools for taking off the old part but I managed to get away with small flat screw drivers but be prepared to break it. The original part was so fragile it tore apart multiple times when I tried separating the gasket from the cover. The diaphragm on the dorman kit seems to be the same lenght as oem with more spirals. The engine was definetly being affected by the vaccum leak when removing the dipstick or oil cap after the the install of the new part. I havenโt further tested the product but as for now for under than 30$ fix Iโ m a satisfied with the results. For reference car has 208k km.

Fixed my check engine light.
This is my second purchase of this product. The last one lasted about two years on my 2011 Volkswagen Jetta. Easy to install. I am hoping that I get the same or better longevity out of this one.
