I am no professional. I needed a socket set and ratchet for specific repairs, so i bought an inexpensive set with ratchet included from Walmart. Then i quickly learned that not all ratchets are made alike. The sockets are fine enough, but the ratchet gave me difficulty switching from tighty to loosey and back quite often, and didn't ratchet every time, from use #1.THIS RATCHET, however, is great for me so far. It does everything it is supposed to do, and it does it well, making it easier to get the job done. I don't notice any faults at all with it. 5 stars from me.Save yourself some headaches; use decent tools! This was one of the more inexpensive ones I found, and i think it is worthwhile.

This ratcheting wrench is very well made with nice features. It is a great value for the money. The SAME wrench sells at Home Depot for $25.00+ dollars and is of no better quality.Please ignore folks that are saying the wrench easily breaks. They are using the wrench to heavily tighten fittings. A ratcheting wrench is used for speed and primary tightening. Once the fitting is on the bolt you take the ratchet wrench OFF of it and use a BREAKER BAR to pull heavy torque on it. An 8 - 10 inch breaker bar with a 3/8 inch drive is more than enough for most homeowners to use. Remember, don't over tighten any fitting with your ratchet wrench or you can easily break off ratchet teeth on the inside.Amazon has a bunch of well made breaker bars for sale a reasonable prices. A breaker bar is well worth its small cost. Also, SATA Tools also manufactures several big name tools for large companies. The big guys just put their names on the tools and sell them to fools who want to pay ten to twenty dollars more for the same tool.

I accidentally bought this while looking for a ratchet with a 1/4" driver but ended up keeping it after it was a joy to work with. I have a Craftsman that I'd been using for some years that extends and rotates which comes in handy but is quite heavy. This one has a real nice shape to the handle and I can get good leverage holding it from the handle and it's very light even when holding it further up the neck when moving quickly to drive smaller screws.I use this on my cars, mostly for oil changes, and it's the first tool I reach for and usually don't have a need for another ratchet with a longer handle for more leverage. It's not too light nor too heavy.

Needed a decent 3/8 dr ratchet , nice weight in your hand . sturdy design

I am not a proponent of buying cheap tools but these would be the exception. Solid quality!
