One star for shipping/delivery/not bent or destroyed. Two stars for (paper quality) not letting my Fountain Pen's ink bleed through the paper! One star for Fountain Pen compatibility. I had purchased this book so that it could be my journal with which I would write in with my fountain pen (Edison Pen Co. -Beaumont). The nib i use is not a flat one which is used for calligraphy but one that is used for normal writing, and it is on the smaller size, might be fine (F). The pen writes very well in this book with no bleed so far as I can tell. I will defiantly buy this again if I need another journal. Review: Fountain pen perfect - The paper in this book is super fountain-pen friendly, I have a jinhao x750 that feathers and bleeds on EVERYTHING but the big boys, so it's going to have to be rhodia, tomoe river, or maruman for me. What can I say? The rules are faint gray, not intrusive at all, it's pretty ink resistant even with the wettest pens and wateriest inks, ans it's durable and just the right size for my particular jacket pocket, excellent notebook. I also like the fact that the pages are perforated, though I do wish it had a pocket... but it's not exactly a given for this style notebook, so I wouldn't take off a star for that. All of this being said, as with any notebook being used with a fountain pen, I'd recommend a sheet of blotting paper large enough to cover an entire page if you absolutely want to avoid ink transference to the opposing pages, but that's not unique to this notebook, it's just part of the game.

Notepad is very nice, but the ink smears
I just received this in the mail yesterday, and I was very excited to try this out. The reason I purchased this is because I have recently dipped into the world of fountain pens. As you can tell by my atrocious handwriting, I am not very good at this yet nor am I an expert. I do know though that with my previous Moleskin A5 notepad, my ink smeared rather terribly. I am using Waterman intense black ink, for anyone that is concerned. The ink still smears with the Mnemosyne Notepad, but it is actually harder to do than it is for the Moleskin. The next thing I'd like to try would be a different ink, perhaps. Waterman has nice reviews and all, but I have nothing to compare it to because it is the only ink I've used so far. I'd like to add that the ink seems to dry decently quickly in this notepad. As I write and run the back of my hand across the pages, the ink is fine. It only smears when I use my fingertips and touch the ink (which my fingers feel sweaty and oily when holding objects), and intentionally testing the ink. If I'm trying to turn the pages and happen to touch the ink, it hasn't smeared yet but it is something I am cautiously trying to avoid. Other than that, I love the book. I like the size of the lines and the perforated edges are helpful for some, I'm sure. I also appreciate that the Waterman Intense Black ink doesn't bleed through too much, as you'll notice in the picture. I do love the spiral binding, as it makes it easier for me to write on the left pages as a right-handed writer. Now that I've had a notepad with this sort of binding, I imagine it'd be hard for me to go back. Also in the picture, look for the "sky" that has smeared slightly. This was from me taking my finger with a fair amount of pressure, and trying to smear the ink to see if it would. Positives: + Line size and spacing + Pages don't bleed much + Headers at the top of each page + Spiral Binding Negatives: - Ink can smear, even after it should be dry - I would have liked an index page at the front - I wish there were more pages Overall, I might try another brand before revisiting this notepad. If I am using my Sharpie pens like I used to before a fountain pen, this book would have been amazing and I'd have little issues with it. Since I am not using the Sharpie pens, I am still on my quest to find a notepad and an ink that would suit my needs.

Obsessed with this paper.
I’m obsessed with this paper. It’s so smooth and sleek without being too shiny. It’s a joy to write on. It doesn’t paper mate felt-tipped pens doesn’t bleed through. I will say that some graphite is damn near invisible on this paper at certain angles due to how shiny the pencil will come off on the paper. I haven’t noticed it with every pencil, but some just show up lighter than others, and this is despite all of them being number 2 pencils.

paper quality ☑ size ☑ class ☑ durability ☑ price ☑
I've been testing different brands of paper to see what I like best, Mnemosyne is sitting near the top of the charts. Writing is a soft/cloudy feeling, though doesn't lack precision. I was also surprised that the wire binding has stood up to the sizeable load my backpack carries everyday. The notebook looks and feels amazing. If someone had come to me before I bought it, and they told me it was a $20 notebook, I would have believed them. The size is another thing that surprised me. I usually like something closer to 8"x10.5", but the A5 size has agreed with me for quick notes, to-do lists, and several pages of notes in a pinch.

Really good for fountain pens
The paper is nice and smooth. I've written on it with my fine nibbed VP, with a variety of inks and have not had any problems. As far as keeping daily logs and task lists I like this notebook the best of the ones I've tried. The top of the page has a small section for date and then a section for topic. No bleedthrough, and slight sheening with some inks. Dry time is on the faster side for quality paper.

Great notebook
The paper in this notebook is a pleasure to write on. The spiral binding lets the pages lay flat. I don't always use the Date/Title boxes at the top, but it's nice to have them there as an option.
