Nice heavy duty torch, better than bernzomatic
I HAD bought Bernzomatic, blindly believing their quality is what it was in the past. I had three torches' igniters fail within the first 1 year of use, making them useless, unless you want to carry an igniter every time you want to use the torch.....not me. So I bought this master appliance torch, and so far it works great. The torch feels very professional-heavy-duty, and controls feel solid. Flame profile is excellent, allowing for high temperature brazing/silver soldering. We'll see if this stands the test of time but I'm done with Bernzomatic until I see evidence of an igniter improvement.

Reliable
I have an 1890s wood cookstove and fireplace and rely entirely on wood heat. This blowtorch allows me to start heat up the flue of my stove and then quickly light the wood for a smokeless start up each time. My dad (WWII generation) was always a "one match" fire starter, but even he would have appreciated the reliability and ease of this tool. Never going back.

It's Master Appliance
A solid tool compared to the popular "Home Gamer" brand-name, for very close to the same price. Flame adjustment is solid. Ignition is spot on, lighting the torch EVERY TIME. (Does not suffer from any "some-timers" type operation)Locking mechanisms work FLAWLESSLY, are rugged and INTUATIVE, just as you'd expect a tradesman's tool to be. Solid construction devoid of plastic parts that are external to the internals, aside from the "Lock-out / trigger button" - which is very robust anyhow. The brand that is far better known among home-owners is - quite honestly - not even half of what this Master Appliance PT-2000Si is. Their ignition thing doesn't work nearly as consistently, (as just one difference) - and the "other brand" is an ALL plastic *housing* on their closest "equivalent model."Great heat outputConsistent ignitionRuggedAdjustablePredictableReliableIf those qualities don't appeal to you - well then move right along there partner. I'm sure you can find something that won't be any of the above.if you LIKE the qualities above, well, then go ahead and "pull the trigger." (Literally) You won't be disappointed.

Not happy at all. It stopped working. Just over the 30 day return policy.
This isn’t even 40 days old and has stopped working. I missed the window for returns and I’ve bitten 2 now. Both have stopped working and I’ve barely used them. I would really like my money back. This isn’t fair.

Overall great torch, 2 years of light use
Overall worked great both map and regular gas. 4 stars because only got 2 years of light use out of it.(roughly every 1-2 months i would use it).

This is the best one I’ve used
The plastic one that is the main one for sale on the shelves failed, melted, and almost caused me to burn the house down. So I wanted an all metal one, and this is as metal as I could find. There’s minimal plastic. Working great. Good value. Buy it.

Heavy duty
Took a little while to figure out how to start it….I have never owned a self ignition torch. So if you buy this here goes…..turn brass knob a little to the left, black knob turn to the left to unlock ignition, grab the unit just like a pistol, index finger on the black knob that unlocked the ignition, pull that knob towards you just like a trigger….this will simultaneously release gas and ignite….don’t release that until you push the small metal button down above the “trigger” button….you can now adjust the flame with the brass knob. To shut it all down, pull that “trigger” knob again…release and everything shuts down instantly. Turn brass knob to the right all the way for storage…..no slow gradual shutdown flame like the old burners. The unit is well constructed, main housing is cast aluminum….good strong steady flame at any angle. 90% of what I do propane works fine….haven’t used MAP gas yet, this torch is compatible with propane or MAP…MAP gas ain’t cheap. Unit is made in Taiwan ….from the bottom of the tank (standard 14 Oz long tank)….to the tip of the torch 21.5 inches..comes with a 1 year warranty.

Better bang for your buck
So far this head is great. Been installing boilers for 10 years now. Turbo torch always breaks and its expensive. This head heats up so much better, its regulating perfectly. If it fails like all the other sparks so be it. Its cheap and works great.
