Awesome mic.
I simply love it. It is great quality, highly accurate, and records clear clean sound. I have worked with some other microphones and I have always found something I was not happy with. I've had this one for almost a year and I have no complaints. It picks up sound well, and is clean. The bass is good and solid and voices do not sound hollow or flat. It can be battery powered or phantom (using camera power if you camera supports it.) I have only used the phantom power and I have never picked up a hiss, static, buzz, or too much ambient white noise. I hear microphones pick up more of that if they are on battery power, but I am very happy with it.Pros:Clean crisp sound devoid of hiss, buzz, or static.Acceptable price, more then others, but well worth it.Options for Battery or Phantom power.Cons:Does not come with a shoe mount, but those are easily bought.A little long, but not really a big deal.If mine broke today, I'd order a new one exactly the same right away, it is the best you can get without going into thousands of dollars.

The perfect microphone.
The ME66 is quite simply the perfect all-around microphone for high-end corporate and documentary work. Mounted on a good shock mount with a good windscreen, it beats a body mic hands down. In an office or studio environment, it makes such a beautiful, full sound that it's addictive. Use the low-end roll off filter if you have HVAC noise. It will sound a bit flat, but you can EQ the bass back into the voice in post and avoid having to filter out the air handler noise.I highly recommend this mic for any serious cinematographer.

Big Shotgun. 'Merica.
I heard these were decent mics, so I got one but the initial intention was for indoor recording so I returned this and picked up a hyper cardioid mic. I already have a mkh-416 so I didn't really see a use for this yet.

Great Package, Excellent Value, Awesome Performance, Cool Versatility
Great field recording microphone for ENG, documentary, run & gun, and interviews with a little distance due to the micophones Supercardioid Polar Pattern. I use lavalier microphones and the ME66 together, to add ambience to my audio.A great feature to me is the capsule. You can expand your microphone system economically and at your own pace.I now have the ME64, 66, and 67 which all work with the K6 capsule. This keeps my bags light, and allows for versatility in the field. If your'e looking at the Rode NTG2 versus the Sennheiser (i own both). I would advise saving up for the Sennheiser. It will be the best choice in quality and price in the long run. However, if your budget doesnt fit the Sennheiser, the Rode is a great mic. It just doesnt have the clarity, gain and ability for expansion the Sennheiser has. Some have told me they even like the bass the Rode adds to sound. So far I have nothing bad to say about any Sennheiser Evolution products. I use Sennheiser across the board, except when vocal talent has there own mic. I do own Shure SM57's and Shure Beta 58A's because some talent are very partial to those mics.Best bang for the buck in my opinion.

Looks can be deceiving
This is actually a positive title. meaning the box it comes in looks so stupid and crappy you think no way this can be a good mic, but it's straight forward. u dont need a fancy box to portray a great mic. pics up everything. has phantom power and takes its own battery. XLR port on bottom for best sound ever! def a filmer's delight when using to get the best audio cause audio is a big deal to me and a part of any film.

Great first time boom mic
If you have never played with a boom mic before, get this one. What drove me to buy it was obviously the price. Sennheiser makes great quality mics, especially since they've been bought out by Neumann. For what you are paying, the sound quality is great, also it's not too expensive, so if you break it, no worries.

Industrial quality. Excellent sound reproduction.
Industrial quality. Excellent sound reproduction. Like the capsule design that's exchangeable for different microphone head in the same series. Phantom power or battery power option is flexible for high-end recorder or what not. Ruggedly built for indoor studio use or outdoor abuse. (of course i still treat it like a baby!)

Sennheiser Cardioid Mic
This is one of the best microphones currently on the market. Besides affordability, the quality is awesome, which makes it unnecessary to purchase something more expensive. This is great equipment for the amateur as well as the pro, outside or inside, film production or music recordings. An all-around great deal! Highly recommended![...]
