This is the best ankle brace that I have ever used by far.
I have a chronic unstable ankle from years of sports injuries. Over the years I have tried numerous other ankle braces including lace up ankle braces some with metal stabilizers and some without. I also have had 2 Arizona braces made costing thousands, but they were too uncomfortable to wear. I thought about giving up hope on ever finding an ankle brace that would work until I tried the Ultra High 5 Ankle Brace. I simply place the foot plate of this brace under my custom orthotics and leave in my shoe. Without question this ankle brace has been the best brace that I have ever used. It is extremely lightweight and you barely know that you are wearing an ankle brace, but most importantly it keeps me from rolling my ankle. I wanted to give this ankle brace 5 stars right away, but have waited over a month of wearing it so I can give it an honest review. Now after wearing it everyday for over a month I am only sorry that I can’t give it more than 5 stars, but that is the maximum rating that is allowed. This brace gives your foot natural motion without worry of rolling your ankle and helps prevent falling, I highly recommend this ankle brace!!!

Good design that works!
This brace has greatly improved my ability to walk more than half a mile without pain. It's more effective than the custom-made brace an orthopedist prescribed which this one resembles. The designs of the two are similar with the exception that this brace does not distort my shoe, does not have protrusions that painfully dig into my foot, and the surface of the ankle padding adheres to my ankle better thus providing better ankle support. The difference is made more stark by the $70 cost of this brace compared to something too close to $1000 for the custom made brace.

worse ankle braces in the last 20 years
Bought this ankle braces because their description an more updated proposal /material than the Active Ankle braces that I would like to replace after decades wearing it. It tuns out this ankle braces are difficult to put them on , since ankle braces are supposedly to be keep it on the volleyball shoes under the insole. THIS THING Material is too HARD, Shell Shape didn't provide a good fit ( I ordered based on their fit chart) and padding not effective to prevent discomfort. (My malleolus bones diameter is 10 inches). THIS THINK HAS CREATED BLISTERS ON MY medial and posterior malleolus (ankle side bony protrusions ).Manufacturer should suggest the fit chart based on the diameter above the malleolus side bones and NOT shoes sizes> Went back and bought new pair of Active Ankle braces

Great for new and old injuries... Let the healing begin!!!
We'll start with my stats and injury... I'm 29, male, 6'2 and currently 270lbs... I ruptured 5 tendons and severed 2 ligiments in my right ankle at 13 years old... 16 years ago... After 1 botched surgery and 1 more to fix the damaged that ensued, I'm left with arthritis in my right ankle, left hip and knee... I have, at this point, forgotten what a day without pain feels like... I am a chef and spend 10 to 18 hours a day on my feet, which generally leaves me, not limping, but literally crawling on all fours around my house after work... Im just too stiff and in too much pain, and standing is just not an option... PERIOD... Today I received my "High 5" and wore it for an entire shift... I'm a little stiff but by no means on my hands and knees... After about 5/6hrs I started to feel some discomfort from the brace on the outer bone of my ankle and a little on the inside of my foot. After about 8 hours I started to feel a little pain and stiffness in the front of my ankle where it meets my foot... I think that it might be a typical/regular pain I've just never noticed because of the excruciating pain that typically resonates from the back of my ankle where most of the damage is... Basically, I'm mad at my doctors for not telling me about this brace 16 years ago when I could have avoided all this and could've had a chance to actually heal properly... It's only day 1 and I'm sure it will wear out over time but I can't get over the difference it made... I want to say $60 is a bit pricey considering its only plastic and a bit of foam and Velcro but it has made a notable difference and it's hard to argue with results... If I find that I fall back into immense pain, I'll update this post, but as of today, day 1, I am extremely happy with the results of wearing this brace and I absolutely compell anyone suffering the way I have for the past decade and a half, or from any ankle injury, to invest in this product. I've come to terms with the fact that I will be a lifetime user of this/products like this and probably have surgery at least once more but, if you have been injured recently, this should help shorten your healing time exponentially! And if you have an older injury, this is going to help relieve so much of your pain, especially if it is a weight bearing issue, which most ankle injuries always are... I only gave it 4 stars because because at this point, I'm positive my pain will outlast this brace and I am basically me challenging "Ultra" to make something that can replace surgery as an option to rectify my issue... Take care of your legs, they hold you up... Invest in this product and please, heal well!!!

Comfortable, lightweight, doesn't limit mobility
I do daily higher-impact activities such as kickboxing and dance. My left ankle has been feeling stiff, and I have some issues with the toes on that same foot. I started using this brace during my workouts to add support and prevent injury. It's easy to use, does not negatively impact my exercise, and provides the support I am looking for. I'm happy with the purchase. I experimented using other lightweight ankle braces, but this one is my favorite and the only one I am currently using.

Not secure or stabilizing enough, not enough padding, didn't fit well in shoes, very uncomfortable.
Unfortunately this brace is very uncomfortable, doesn't provide stable support, and doesn't fit in a shoe well. I broke my ankle and had a cast for 5 weeks. Afterwards, the Dr said to keep wearing a brace for stability. I ordered 6 different braces, all different kinds (lace up, velcro, hinged, unhinged, sock, ect...) in a variety of price ranges. This one fell short. First, there isn't enough padding around the ankle l. Even with my ankle still a little puffy, the minimal padding pressed painfully against my bone. I had to wrap extra cloth around the bone to make it comfortable. The brace only has one strap, so its hard to keep the brace secure without cutting off circulation. It still twists around on my ankle. It also doesn't fit well even in low cut sneakers. The top of my shoe kept shifting the brace around, and the hinge bulged the shoe out, so my shoe didn't fit securely on my foot. All of this makes it more dangerous to attempt walking. For the price point, I didn't think this brace was worth it. Not secure or stabilizing enough, not enough padding, didn't fit well in shoes, very uncomfortable.

Did not work for me.
I received this item quickly. I bought these due to laxity and history of sprains in both of my ankles. My left ankle, especially, is very unstable and painful to be on my feet for any length of time. I recently had surgery, requiring crutches and relying on my left leg to get around. I wanted a brace to provide support to my overused and now angry ankle. Disclaimer, I have a difficult time finding ankle braces that properly fit my puny ankles. Unfortunately, this brace did not work for me either. Given my ankle measurement of 11”, I bought a size small. Like many ankle braces, I couldn’t get the brace tight enough around my lower ankle, where I needed the support the most. I tried different socks and support sleeves under the brace to fill the gap. While those likely would have helped, it made it difficult to get my foot in my sneakers due to the bulk. Having tried many other ankle braces and supports, I also feel these braces are pricey when compared to other similar braces. If you have small ankles, I probably wouldn’t recommend these braces, as I think there are more effective, less expensive, options.

Exactly what was needed.
This does the trick for elderly person with stroke - helps her to be able to stand. Easy to get in and off and provides enough support. No issues with wear and tear or any pressure points.

Useless
Piece of junk. Painful to wear and no support. Must of had a small ankle model wear it. Not as tall as looks in picture. Needs 2 straps in my opinion for support. The plastic heal piece is useless. Would send it back but probably cost me just as much in shipping. You get what you pay for I guess.
