This product doubled in price over the weekend. How is this not price gouging?

Thank you for saying this. I know I was not mistaken in thinking this filter was less than $40 over the weekend when I came back today and see it selling for $70. I didn’t order because there was no delivery date on my purifier and I I didn’t want the return date to pass just in case there was a problem with it. This price gouging is disgusting.

This question is directed to someone with pets: Do you find that the life of the filters are basically cut in half?

I've found that I can extend the life of the HEPA filter if I check the pre-filter (and clean it) more often. There is a fine screen in front of the activated-charcoal filter. I can vacuum the dust/cat hair off it (and sometimes I vacuum the carbon filter too). Keeping these filters clean seems to keep the HEPA filter from getting dirty as quickly.

what does the ion button do? should it be on all the time?

It ionizes the air. We keep it on all the time. From an internet search... Air ionizers are used to remove particles from the air and purify the air of bacteria, dust, cigarette smoke, molds, soot, pollen, and household odours. They emit negative ions into the air as a way to clean it. Do not confuse this with ozone generators which may emit high levels of ozone that can be bad for health.

Are you supposed to clean these in anyway to increase their lifespane? Remove and rinse out or wipe off at all?

You can rinse out all the filters, except the white Hepa filter.
