Great for teaching the fundamentals to kids
We have kids from 5 to 12, and all of them like playing with these magnets. This kit has enough of a variety of magnets and associated equipment that you can do a lot of experiments, most of which just seem like playing to the kids. They really like the levitating dowel and suspending the magnets above one another.

Meh magnets
This did the trick for teaching basic principles of magnetism but the quality is just so-so. The U shaped magnet arrived broken.
