Bachmann Trains End of Train Device with Track-Powered Flashing LED - HO Scale, Black

The media could not be loaded. I received the Bachmann End of Train Device (EOTD) today and installed it on my new Bachmann Industries CSX #256439 ACF 56’ Center-Flow Hopper (HO Scale). I have to say it works and looks amazing!While I normally don’t order Bachmann products due to their lesser focus on intricate detailing compared to other brands, this EOTD exceeded my expectations. Installation was an absolute breeze, and it added a realistic touch to my layout that I didn’t realize I was missing.Yes, Bachmann may not be known for the same level of detail as some other brands, but their durability is a big advantage. With fewer fragile parts, their products can withstand regular handling better, which is great for active model railroading.Overall, this EOTD is an excellent addition, and I highly recommend it for anyone looking to enhance their layout with a functional and visually appealing detail.

Good quality, works as described, easy to install.

Good scale size equipment and operates at lower voltage. BUT, there is NO screw as shown in the ad! Standard mounting screws are narrower than the mounting hole. I solved the problem with a paper punch and a small drill bit. I punched three holes in heavy clothing tag, held them by the edge with a pair of pliers and drilled a center hole with my smallest bit. This enabled me to screw the truck on. Easier to mount the coupler first--and mount on a car where there is a short distance between the coupler pocket and the truck mounting hole.

Worked perfectly and adds realism to my model RR. There is no model RR shop any more in my home town so this is an obvious choice to get this product.

I modified it to fit an Athearn Roundhouse car with a simple plastic bearing and washer made from some scrap I had in my spare parts pile. The device is a little large to be prototypical, but I really really like this size since it’s easier to spot and enjoy as the train is making its way around the layout. It does work with DC with a bit to be desired, but it performs perfectly with the full voltage available from DCC.

.."I could get the trucks attached, they will not swivel since the wire is too tight and there isn't even a tiny bit of wiggle room...."Great idea, POOR EXECUTION!This is a direct quote from another customer who purchased this unit. I totally agree! I purchased this device for my Bachman Norfolk Southern Caboose, the wires are TOO SHORT to attach to the caboose! The unit works well, so dear manufacturer MAKE THE WIRES A BIT LONGER PLEASE!! and then I will give this five stars.
