A simple tweak to solve all problems.
This is GREAT!!! I used a scrap of 4" high density foam, cut so it fits snugly into the box. I carved a hole to fit my son's head and made it a bit closer to the front so his eyes would be closer to the eye holes. It stays put when he turns his head, too. It's PERFECT! He is so excited for Haloween. My son is 4 but 95th percentile for height and weight so he's about the size of a 5-6 year old.

Very cute! My 7 year old loves it!
Yes, it's a cardboard box. Yes, I think it could be sold for less money than what I paid. However, my 7 year old was ecstatic with it. Paired with the diamond sword (which I bought on sale), jeans and a t-shirt I already had, it was a hit!. I've paid more money for other costumes with same quality.Using the enclosed head sizing adjustment and some duct tape to hold insert in place, it fit properly. My son was able to walk around and see out of box head for short spurts of time. I had considered making one on my own with instructions from You Tube videos, but decided that purchasing was money well spent.

Just a box, but a very nice box
My son wanted to be "Steve" from Minecraft for Halloween. I thought about trying to custom-fabricate something because I wanted him to have block-like arms and body but I ran out of time, so, Amazon Prime to the rescue! I wasn't sure what to expect with this because I read some negative reviews saying it is "just a box". My 4 year old saw me browsing and gave it his blessing so I ordered it.Well, it is a box but is also comes with a cardboard piece to fold in to the top of the box with a hole cut out for the top of your head. The hole indicates that you can cut it with scissors to enlarge it and make it fit your head-size. At its smallest size it fit my 4 year old's head fine (I might enlarge it and see if it coming down over his head more will allow the box to "seat" a little bit better on his head). The problem is: the box was too tall and his head never came in contact with the head piece (the bottom of the box hit his shoulders before his head made contact with it). The solution I came up with was to tape the head-piece closer to half-way down the box to accommodate his lack of height. He can walk around with it on, look around, etc., and as long as he doesn't get too crazy it stays in place. I will probably work on an even better solution tonight before Halloween. The box is very high-quality, the printing is well-done, and it's made in the USA. My 4 year old loves it and it looks great coupled with a pickaxe (see image). For those who don't want to read a lengthy review, I will summarize with pros and cons.Pros:- High-quality cardboard and printing.- Mojang-licensed product.- Looks great, especially when paired with other Minecraft accessories.- Made right here in the USA.- 4-year-old approved.Cons:- The mounting system more or less sucks and will require some creative tweaking.- It IS a bit expensive (you are no doubt paying for Mojang licensing).

MINECRAFT BDAY PARTY! 🎉💚
Perfect addition to my son’s Minecraft themed birthday party! I couldn’t find officially licensed Minecraft themed party supplies but found some knock off pixelated supplies & decided to buy a few of these Minecraft cardboard heads to help pull the Minecraft look together. These worked out really well in achieving that & I was very pleased with the results. There is a hole in the bottom of the head & holes for eyes so it can be worn as a costume which was its original purpose & fun for the kids at the party. We are now using them as decor for my son’s bedroom since it will have a gaming theme soon. I’d say these are quite pricy per head but, they can be used for many things (decor, costume, yearly photos, photo booth, etc.) so I think we will get our monies worth one way or another. They are made with thick cardboard so they are great quality & they are fairly easy to assemble. Great product, good condition & fast shipping! If you found my review helpful, I would appreciate you clicking yes - thanks!!!

A little too big
We purchased this Steve head to be worn as a Halloween costume for my six year old. The box is shipped flat and then you assemble it yourself. The box is what you would expect of a cardboard material, very sturdy. There is a whole on the inside at the top for a person's head to rest in and for the box to sit still. This part did not work for my child because it was extremely too big. The box moved al evening and at times he found it difficult to see. I can see how this item would work well for an older child. My son loved it and looked very cute.

Be prepared to modify the cardboard to make it work...
The head is nice quality and the cardboard is pretty rigid, so I hope that the kids don't destroy/crush/maim/burn it in the next few weeks. The print is crisp and closely replicates the game's iconic character. However, there is a defect in the design where the "crown" piece of cardboard (to wear it) is not designed right. Even without trimming the oval hole to the right size, it was clear it would not fit even an adult. The head was setting on your shoulders and you could not look out the eye holes. Using the Amazon box it came in, I re-created the interior piece so that it was 4" taller than the piece it came with (about 1/2" above the eye holes at the bottom). Kind of an inconvenience when the kids want to play with it... :-(

It was fine except the eye holes were pretty wide apart and ...
Package states for 14+ age group but I insisted it would work with my son who is 8. It was fine except the eye holes were pretty wide apart and when placed on his head it sat on his shoulders. I took some Velcro strips and placed them on the four sides of the insert which normally sits all the way in the top on the inside of the mask to keep your head in the center and provides some stability. This allowed the adjustment of the height of the insert so a smaller head would be able to use the mask.It worked flawlessly and my son loves his new Steve head.
