This updated 2002 volume supercedes D'Adamo's original title ER4YT as it adds secretor/non-secretor practical information regarding food choices for those who wish to further refine their diet.Set up in an alphabetically arranged encyclopedia format, the text covers topics that range from the anthropology of the blood types, the history of blood types in medicine, a listing of conditions and diseases with relation to blood type and food choices for all 4 types.If you are an advocate of the ER4YT program, this book is a must as is the delightful cookbook, 'Cook Right For Your Type'. I have been on the program at the advice of my health care provider for over 2 months and have slimmed down without really dieting all while feeling a heck of a lot better. Referring to this book, the cookbook as well as the original ER4YT help keep you interested --- as boredom resulting from monotonous food choices seems to be one of my number one problems with staying with any program.

I love science.
Ever wonder why your husband can eat something and be fine but it tears up your stomach or vise versa? Or why your friend can eat bread and be skinny but it makes you fat? Buy this book and take the guesswork out of the equation. What scares me in this day and age is that we are not told our blood types. We are not told what blood type our children are. They run ALL of those tests on our newborns but they cannot tell us their blood type. I had to purchase the blood typing kit (simple, do it) for both of my kids and many others. The only people who can tell you their blood type are the ones wearing or have previously worn military dog tags. Here's the deal, people. I have respect for the whole Paleo idea....just as long as you are an O blood type, that diet is for you. However, if your blood type is A, that diet will literally kill you. I could go on and on, but I will leave you with that one example. This book is full of powerful information. I know that every one of you reading this is either suffering with pain or knows several people suffering in pain. Dr. D'Adamo has followed in his father's footsteps and expounded upon his father's research to deliver you from that pain. This book is full of good information, whether you take it or leave it.

DONT GET THE KINDLE VERSION
This review is not targeted at the book. The information Dr D'Adamo provides is solid, makes lots of sense and as a fitness professional, provides scientific basis in it conception as well as it updates.HOWEVER, the KINDLE version is CRAP!!!!!!!! it looks like a got a chinese copy not an Amazon.com copy!!! I used on my kindle PC. The pictures, the tables and small prints look horrible... I have a real hard time reading on two 24" monitors setup !!! RIDICILOUS to charge me $15 for it and not show the worse part to let me analyze if I wanted or not... and BTW: U can't return it because it's an electronic copy!!If that's what the outcome of the Kindle gives me, please KEEP it !!Dont throw your money away getting teh KINDLE version!!

Say goodbye to unhealthy living
If you sample the book you might think to yourself “there’s no way I have the time to try to understand this book, much less put these techniques into practice.” I know I did!! But I had to find the rhythm in my reading and stay consistent. My body was suffering in so many different areas and I didn’t know why. I was feeling really sluggish and always tired. My eyes would be bloodshot red and headaches would come frequently. I’ve had 2 EGD and 2 Colonoscopy procedures by the age of 33. The results came back clear. We talked about eating to my blood type. I was intrigued and so I got the book. Sometimes it reads very hard and slow. But when you finally start to understand there is no stopping you! I’m living life physically and mentally like I was back in my teen years. Full of energy and ready to take on a new adventure without worrying about my stomach more specifically. You must read and try this out!

Great read!
If you're looking for a book that will help you stay healthy and optimize your eating habits, Eat Right for Your Type by Dr. Peter J. D'Adamo is a great option. The book is broken down into four sections, each containing helpful advice and recipes tailored specifically to the needs of a different blood type.

good info
This encyclopedia is full of information. I personally like the original work on the BTD better, but for the day and age, when most people are concerned with animal fats, carbs, and DIETING - not to forget to mention diseases of today... this is a good reference book.Here's my take:I came across the used copies of James D'Adamo's books in jr. high and I've been eating according to my blood type ever since - and I can say this: I've never had a weight problem, even now after 2 children and over 35, I look fantastic and have a good bmi, healthy heart, and nice figure. *note, James D'Adamo is this author's father.Whether you are looking to lose weight or create a healthier relationship with food and a healthy way of living, this book series can help. Remember, this is the encyclopedia, there is a whole line of books. (I have 3 of these plus 2 of the father's books).The bottom line is that no matter which way you choose to go, you will most likely benefit, as this is just a healthy and natural way to eat. Just because I'm more of a fan of the father doesn't make this series of books any less significant or great.

Great book To educate yourself on different foods!
This book is great to have ! It educates you on what to feed your body for your blood type and what food to eat! It has lots of recipes to keep you strong and healthy !
