GE Color Select Backlit Buttons Universal Remote Control, Samsung TV Remote

Love this remote the weight and size is great. It’s so nice to have it light up and it was so simple to connect to the tv. Very easy to use too. It was very reasonably priced and functional.

I bought this remote because I got a new (2025) Sony Bravia TV that has a baffling limitation: It can't control the volume of my Bose soundbar that's connected via optical audio cable. (The Samsung TV I was using before supports this, leading me to naively assume any recent TV would support it also. To me this is an asinine and user-hostile limitation of Sony TVs.) Rather than replace my perfectly functional soundbar (which doesn't support HDMI), I got this universal remote instead. I programmed the soundbar to the 'aux' device button and enabled the "master volume" feature, which lets me adjust the soundbar volume and mute/unmute without having to select the 'aux' device. Problem solved! The remote is easy to program using the provided instructions and code list and also has a nice backlight feature that supports multiple colors. Roku is supported if you have one that supports IR (infrared) remote control (this excludes "stick" Rokus, unfortunately). One of the other reviews said "There is no dedicated home button for a Roku," but this is not correct. The remote also works well with my Sony Blu-ray player. The size, layout, and feel of the buttons is acceptable for a remote in this price range. If you have 4 or fewer devices of relatively recent vintage that have IR remotes, this universal remote control should do just fine.

Nicely designed in terms of form factor. I bought the black model that allows you to choose backlight colors. I had a lot of frustration trying to program my Roku+ Stick (this is one of the "better" ones in the product line with built in volume controls), but none of the codes worked. Before I decided to pack in in and return it, I combed through the Amazon Q&A section and found people saying that it seems to work with the Roku Express stick. This was interesting because the official feedback from the company was incorrect - they state that the remote only works with full-on Roku TVs, not the stick products. Seeing this info from that astute Amazon customer, I grabbed the Roku Express Stick from a different TV and swapped it out in the room and television where I wanted the GE Universal Remote to work. It worked just liked it should - I got it working in one shot, the first code "took" and I was in business. / None of this would have been necessary if Roku had better designed products with backlighting built in. In a darkened bedroom at night, it's hard to see your controls. / The moral of this story is that the GE Universal remote works exactly as I had hoped. It control both TV and Streaming device (plus other stuff like DVD players), all in one simple, backlit remote. I'm beyond happy with the quality and price.

Nice remote which was really easy to set up with my tv. It lights up by pressing any button. Works well.

Deserves all 5 Stars. Only little issues, it was quite difficult to slide open the battery compartment (super tight) to get the batteries installed, and you can't position the remote securely on a surface, your coffee table, because the backside is not constructed very smartly, so it's kind of seesawing there... BUT, since I installed all my 3 devices in like 5 minutes, with help of the code list, and everything works like a charm, I couldn't be happier. That was a very smooth experience, no frustration, beautiful! TCL Roku TV, Sony blueray player, and a like 15 years old Sony Receiver/Amplifier, all works! Before that I went with "One4All" the only known brand for me, and I remember, I paid 10 years ago like $50 for it, and it was super frustrating to install. Codes didn't work, had to call them, they had to send a ton over the phone, and I had to hold that remote to the phone to be programmed... And for that price, with backlit in different colors (which is a bit of a baublery in my eyes), lightweight, great workmanship (except the seesawing), and nice material, this thing was an awesome purchase! I am highly disappointed with this purchase. I bought two remote controls. They worked fine initially, but completely failed exactly three and four days after the Amazon return policy expired. It seems this item is only built to last for about a month. Save your money and buy a higher-quality alternative.

Great remote, so simple to program. Really nice to use when lying in bed at night watching TV as it lights up and you can find the buttons easily. Programming it is so easy.

This remote is nice however it will not program to our TV!! We have tried every code possible. Waste of money if you ask me!!
