I ordered these 6 times so far. The first is over my garbage can on the dark side of my house. The next over my recycle can in the same area. I can now see which can is which when putting trash out at night. The next 2 on each side of my entry gate. The last 2 over my double front doors. The lights are not super bright but bright enough to see my gate knob and front door keyhole. They light an approximate 5 foot diameter.They last the entire night and cost nothing to run. I've had them several months now and they are in great shape making it through the winter rains and now the hot summer. I have to say the more expensive double battery light does not last the entire night. I purchased them from Amazon for $6 to $8. Well worth the price.

You get what you pay for. I only bought one to test if it was good enough to buy more to light my backyard. Thankfully I only paid $5 so I'm not that upset. mine did include the battery and I followed the directions included in the package of letting it charge outside for 3-5 days before first use. I turned it on and was about what I expected for $5. Lit the area somewhat but not very much. however, after 2-3 days I couldn't even tell if the light was on even with my hand directly underneath. I figured it was because it didn't charge back up because it was overcast during the day. I turned it off and allowed it to charge back up for a few days before turning it back on. was only bright for about 1 evening and didn't even last to the end of the night. you get what you pay for so if you don't mind wasting $5 for a light that's good for only a couple days, then this is the product for you. Otherwise don't waste your money.

Don't expect alot of illumination out of these little lights. They do not produce much light so you must have more than one of them. I have four of them hooked on my gutter system and they throw a good bit of light on my impatient flower bed. They really are more of a 'night light' than anything else. For the money they are ok, but do not have high expectations. These lights come with one battery (that's all there is room for) and a wing nut that easily adheres to the gutter lip. There is nothing you need additionally to put these lights up (unless you want to permanently screw them to a building or fence post.)

Had 6 of these on my gutter for 2 1/2 years now. They got dimmer over time and eventually all died. Just got around to taking them down to see if I can resurrect them. They are cheaper now at <$5 each and really is not worth the trouble. But since I have parts on hand from fixing my solar garden lights, I gave these a shot. Out of the 6, 2 of them are actually still intermittently working. I found the on/off switch on all 6 to be dead or intermittent which was the cause of the light working intermittently. That was easy to fix. Just short out the switch which is not really necessary anyways. Of the 6 batteries, 5 were mostly dead. Only 1 was still working somewhat. I just replaced them all with AA rechargeable. These have 2000mAH compared to the 1300mAH of the original batteries. So they should last longer. 2 of the 6 solar panels were totally dead. The good ones are still giving me 2.5V/150mA under full sunlight which is similar to the new uXCell 2v/120ma panels I have on hand. They cost about $1.50 each. It was simple to drill 2 small holesnext to the old panel and rewire the 2 leads to the new panel through these holes. Then glue the new panels on top of the old ones using silicone glue. Apart from the above fixes, I found minor water entry into the inside of the unit, mainly through the opening of the switch. Since I shorted out all the switches already, It is simple to glue shut the opening of the switch to prevent water entry. Overall, I found this light's design superior to the typical garden solar lights in terms of water entry into the circuitry inside. The weak spot is the switch opening. I am happy to have all 6 lights working again. It did cost me 6 AA batteries at $2.50 each plus 2 new panels, total $18. Well, with the current price of a lot of 6, I did not save anything except satisfaction that I fixed something. If you bought these lights, I highly recommend that you seal up the switch opening with silicone glue. That will extend the life of the light.

I am VERY pleased with these lights, so much so I have bought 5 of these lights! They are PERFECT for a bit of extra light over the driveway (we use 3 for this) and a walkway to the porch (where I've affixed it to the lattice work, the supplied clip works perfectly on the white plastic lattice work!) We also have one placed on the gutter over a rear door. We no longer need to flip on a light to check on the dogs or when coming in at night after the driveway lights have shut off for the evening. IF these lights are in full sun on an east side (early shade turn-on) they will obviously shut off a bit earlier than one located in direct sun on the west side. However, they are staying lit at least 5 hours after dusk. This solar light uses an easy to replace rechargeable AA battery. Tip: Since we have so many I initially mounted them all on the lattice work then once we determined which ones were brightest we used those where we had the most critical need. I would definitely purchase again. Great value for a great product. NOTE: The extra battery bay is NOT electrically connected, you do not need to put a battery in the spare compartment. There is an On/Off switch near the LEDs. If yours fails to light, check this switch and make sure the battery is located in the proper compartment (silver tabs to make the electrical connection.) The packaging indicates: 0.3 watt LED 1.2v 1200 mAh AA NI-MH battery (supplied)

Save your money and look for something better. I guess I shouldn't have expected much from an $8 light but this item is nothing more than a very cheap toy light. There is no weather sealing of any kind on this light. It's made of very thin cheap plastic, and I have to believe that the very first rain would fill it with water and kill it. Other reviewers have indicated they had to add an extra battery (it only comes with one) for it to be able to last all night. It does indeed have two battery compartments however, one of them doesn't even have any electrical contacts in it. It's just an empty slot. with a cover on it. It does light up, however very dimly for having 3 large LEDs. It might be ok if installed somewhere that it would never get wet or snow covered, but I can't imagine a solar light being very useful in those places. Not worth sending back obviously, but I'll be looking for a different solution.

These are my favorite solar lights. Strategically placed, they have an elegant look to them and work great. If you can get full sun exposure throughout the day, you're in luck. They can be easily attached to gutters or simply screw them to the fascia boards. I would advise replacing the included batteries with some higher mAh rechargeables to get a longer run time. I also recommend occasional cleaning of the solar panel. The small panels get oxidized which reduces the ability to recharge the batteries. Use some kind of polish because it's hard to remove. I keep spare lights handy to rotate between cleanings. This way I can remove the oxidation thoroughly some other time. The lights are a focused beam and practical for ambient lighting. During winter, they are not gonna light much, but at summertime, they go late into the night with good batteries.

A waste of money. Mid summer with long hours of sunlight and with the supplied 800 mAh battery it only stayed lit for 2 1/2 hours. There is not a socket available for a second battery as the instructions indicate. Changing to a fully charged 2400 mAh battery extended the burn time to all night, 9 hours, the first night then only 4 1/4 hours the second or third night, This tells me the photo cell capacity is inadequate and can't supply enough energy even during long summer hours. Junk! Amazon came thru again. They issued a UPS return label and within a few hours after UPS got it, I saw a refund applied to my account. What more can we ask of a company?

I bought 2 packages of these last summer for our deck. Everyone commented on how nice they looked. The bracket wouldn't fit onto my railing so I used a thick zip tie. THis year I noticed one corner needed one additional light; I was thrilled to find out I could order just 1. They work great and look good.

Solar light works good,not as bright as what I thought it would be but it does the trick.I would buy this product again but would order an extra one to provide more light.Good sunny day will help make light stay on longer,I get between 4 to 6 hours of good lighting.

Light cast is very dim and it doesn't last for more than a couple of hours. I would consider it as an accent light as opposed to any light marking a clear safe path at night. My unit also works intermittently as it seems to get water inside it........Glad I didn't buy more. I think this is a great idea, but more engineering needs to go into it. Perhaps a larger or more efficient solar array. Update 1 year later. The unit completely died. The solar panel is all clouded over and the on/off switch is completely rusted out. It is a waste of money.

Excellent lights. I mounted 2 of them to the gutter over the front porch and they light up the whole porch. No need to use my outside light.

Ordered four of them and though not really bright looked good on the gutters of the house so I thought I would buy another four. Then as I was waiting for them to arrive a storm came through and the wind blew off one of the solar panels which was poorly attached. Then when the new lights arrived none of them had batteries in them so I had to buy some rechargeable batteries so they would work. So they look good but only last an hour or two before they go out. However they are pretty cheap so I guess it depends on your needs. Personally I am looking for something a bit better albeit more money.
