Wonderful, but needs heavier pieces
I love having this chess board when I want the tactile feel of pieces when playing a computer. There are lots of difficult levels, different modes, and clever features like showing where all of the pieces should be positioned on the board (if you happen to hit the board and mix up the pieces). The only thing that would make it better is if the pieces had more weight. They work fine, but they are very light. The good thing is that you can use different pieces since the board works by pressure and not sensing the pieces themselves. It's an intelligently and elegantly designed board. You'll love it.

The Chess Master has entered the building or at least I hope that I can say that someday
Why is this a challenging product to use and by challenging I mean it really challenges you in your mind when you're playing chess not that it's hard to operate at all. I love the fact that you get the ability to play up to grandmaster level against the built-in ai and it's really awesome that the chessboard is built durably and works well. I love using this on breaks at work to keep my mind going throughout the day and I also love the fact that it makes it very fun to play with other friends as well.

A good enjoyable little set
I am enjoying this set very much, after nearly two months with it. True, the pieces are light and clumsiness could be an issue. But I'm getting used to this and the game functions. It has run faithfully all this time on three double A's, still going. It has a setting at three minutes in which it "thinks" and is quite a competitor, for me at least, inclined to impetuous play and not looking at the attack lines adequately. I think it would be really good for teaching someone new to the game, as it does have several "beginner" levels. I'm no pro, to give perspective on these comments here. I didn't want to spend a whole lot more, so I'm happy with it.

Perfect chess companion
I really like this Chess game. It works well and as intended. One thing you might want to do is replace the chess pieces with heavier ones (magnets for weight) . I did and now I am really liking it!

Hard to figure out once you loose track of whose move it is
I tried playing this several times and could never finish a game. It is somewhat confusing if you make a wrong move and then try to recall it. It is so easy to lose track of who needs to move, me or the computer. Instructions are not much help. This is a great idea but not very well executed. I will stick to playing chess on my phone against the computer.

Finicky, flawed game isn’t capable of playing even a simple game of chess.
I bought this hoping it would be fun and easy to play on beginner levels and more challenging on higher levels. I also liked the feature that told you when you made a good move. Unfortunately, this finicky little game gets stuck trying to move pieces that aren’t where the game thinks it is, not responding to input via buttons and not performing the way the instructions say it should. I took away all the challenging parts and just tried to play a simple game and it wasn’t even able to do that. It would insist I hadn’t moved pieces after it had confirmed that I had and it would sit and sit even on beginner levels, without making a move. Maybe I got a bad unit but maybe it’s a matter of “you get what you pay for” because what seemed like a good deal wasn’t at all. Avoid this game.

... the set are awful but i replaced them with better chess pieces
The pieces that came with the set are awful but i replaced them with better chess pieces. That it the only negative i will give. The 'Chessman Elite' plays a tough game and the thing i like best is that it isn't 'book-smart'. Games are similar to what you might experience against a person who knows how to play well but who hasn't studied the openings but is familiar with them. While it doesn't come with an a/c adapter you can buy one for about $10 or use 3 AA batteries.

"chessmann elite lexibook"
Saludos.

Frustrating
Frustrating item, does not register the movement everytime.. due to this issue it is frustrating and confusing who's turn it is and what is wrong when it starts complaining about the move done. Non magnetic.. item returned

Works very well - and a lot of fun
Works very well - and a lot of fun. The AI is surprisingly good and fun to play against. The actual pieces are a bit cheap and light so it could be worth replacing them. Excellent value.

Bon produit
