Supplemental Hosmart Driveway Alarm Sensor (1 Sensor only Coffee)

Using Nicad batteries, so far works at -45

Installed two sensors. One of the two kept causing false alarms for no apparent reason. Lowered the sensitivity one notch to 20 - 25 feet and the false alarms stopped. Now the sensor seems to pick up movement at only 15 feet or less. Not a big issue, but I'd like the range to be accurate, as I'm using these purely as motion detectors on my property.

Bought a sensor and receiver over 2 years ago and it worked great untill the heat plus a bird beak shattered the sensor eye cover. Had to unplug because it wouldn't stop chiming. Of course I didn't get the extra protection plan at the time and the warranty expired a few months back so I went and bought a new sensor. Sadly it was not compatible with the old receiver as they have been updated. I was in contact with customer service and after we realized why it wouldn't pair, they were kind enough to send me a new receiver. I had it set up and running in about 3 minutes. Great product and customer service folks. Definitely will buy again when its time to expand our system.

6/5/2019 Update - downgrading to 3 stars as the base unit does not survive a power outage. What I mean is if you lose power, when it comes back you need to switch on the base unit again. This might seem reasonable but this is a security device, it needs to be operational all the time. Obviously if there is no power it won't work at that time but when power comes back the unit should start working again - just like home networking equipment does. We live in an area where we lose power a lot (compared to previous locations we've lived). Sometimes the power is out for a couple of seconds. If we lose power when we're not home, sometimes we don't even know (no flashing clocks, that sort of thing - battery backup). And this is what happened. We lost power without knowing and at some point we noticed the alarm wasn't sounding. I checked the base unit - it was off.First unit didn't work so they sent a replacement which does work. Support worked pretty hard to get me a replacement unit that works. I will report back if there are any durability concerns. Only giving 4 stars since the quality is in question.

Hands down the best motion sensors. I've used this brand, Chamberlain and Guardline. They all don't work as good and aren't as durable as these Hosmarts.The Chamberlain sometimes won't pick up dark colored vehicles or persons moving slowly in dark clothing. These Hosmarts are damn near 100%, if not 100%, accurate.Battery charge lasts forever on the sensors. A full charge will last at least 6 months. Battery on AAs for the receiver will last approximately one month. But the receiver has the ability to be plugged into an AC. I've dropped sensors and the receiver, the wind has knocked over a sensor sensor onto cement from 4' and they all held up fine.Had a small issue and customer service (Howard took care of me. I called at approximately 9pm PST. They called me back within a minute to address my issues. I use a total of 6 now for each perimeter.

I ordered two of these to add to the sensors I already have. I have 3 receivers and simply don’t need more that two. I ordered the same ones that were in my purchase history, but these are different, they’ve been drastically cheapened down, are not rechargeable and come with no battery. The worst part is, they don’t even work. Will not sound on any of my 3 receivers. I tried them with rechargeable batteries, and Alkaline batteries and made sure the switch was in the on position at less than 5 ft from the receivers. These folks have done well in the past. Don’t know what’s happened.I will be requesting a refund.

I have two of these and they worked 80% correctly for about 6 months and then these got wonky to where they would not work half the time. I replaced batteries and it didn't make much difference.. I bought another to replace one that just seemed to fail all the time but don't know if it's moisture or what keeps it from being consistent but even the new one was more sporadic. Do not recommend .

Great device keeps a charge for over a year

Our previous detector was damaged by hail.I was happy to find an exact replacement. The only problem we found with both sensors is that it does emit a totally different alarm that what it was set to at times. This alarm does not indicate that someone or something has entered so you learn to distinguish the two sounds. The only thing we conclude that may set it off is weather conditions, ex.- fog, humidity, sun @ certain times of the day!

Sensor werkt degelijk , bereik is uitstekend (getest op meer dan 100meter) maar beschrijving van het toestel klopt niet. Bereik van de sensor is beperkt regelbaar (2 posities i.p.v. 4) en de batterij is geen meegeleverde 18650 batterij maar 4 AA batterijen zijn noodzakelijk (niet meegeleverd).

Très bon produit pour protéger son habitation et son jardin facile a installer

Have you used this brand of alarm for years now it has the best range and I would say the least amount of false alarms out of all the alarms I have tried over the past 20 years
