Don't waste your money!!!
These are awful!! I tried to follow the insturctions and the Agar came out all clumpy and gooey! I could not use any of it! It may be cheap but its not worth it!!!! At all!!!

Worked ok
I was trying to find petri dishes ready to go, but they were so much more money, and we just wanted to do it once.We made as per instructions, and it seemed to work okay with stuff growing, but just not as good as the ones I remember from childhood that were super sensitive and grew all kinds of bacteria and stuff, so I guess don't expect results like the professional physician type.

cheap junk!
Super small dishes. Nothing grew on the plates. A waste of money! Spend a little x tr a money and get a product that actually works.

Petri Dishes and Agar
These dishes are tiny (about 2.5" diameter) and not very deep but were useful for the short radish seed experiment my sister needed to do.

Instructions incorrect
I'm pretty sure the instructions are wrong. They say 1 Tablespoon agar to 2 tsp. sugar, and 3 Tbs. water. It also says it comes w/ enough for 6 petri dishes, alluding that it you should do this mixture ratio 3 times, assuming one mixture is for the 2 petri dishes. But the 2 packets of agar are @ 1 tsp. each...not even 1 Tbs. We mixed both packets (to get as close to 1 Tbs. as we could), with 2 tsp. sugar and water, and got a much too watery substance...not the gelatin substance you are supposed to have w/ petri dish. So I'd advise 1 pkt of the agar, with less water and sugar, and just keep mixing until it is a gelatin substance. If anyone has better ratios, please share! Also...there is very little educational info...just a few bullets on the back of the packaging.
