Penofin Red Label Clear Gallon

This is the best sealer! It doesn't fade or peel. A little more work, as you have to wipe down - but so worth it. I use it on all my outdoor furniture and decks.

What we like is the product. The quality of the product is far superior to other stains and protection products out on the market . It beads up well in the hard rain and salt water wind near the bodies of water we are near . Save you self some time, money, headache. Get a dollar store Turkey baster & 10 oz spray bottle and spray and brush it on . Otherwise your going to be very un happy with the pattern and amount this comes out in with a traditional pump sprayer. It goes 1/2 far and looks like @&$& on the fence . The downside - Ignore the over abundance of warning labels. They are so very horrible. I would have sent these four cans back but husband insisted to use the product. Wind warning states will spontaneously combust, one warning states will turn into gel and thicken after you open it . Why on earth would you put a product on a wooden fence that is going to catch on fire if in direct sunlight or “ Spontaneous combustion” . However , it’s a great company get product, great shipping, secure product so it didn’t get damaged in shipping. I would recommend this product if you don’t read the labels .

I had bought Ipe wood for my deck years ago. Couldn't afford it now. But I originally used an Ipe deck oil recommended by the seller. It turned the beautiful deck Chocolate brown. It was terrible in My opinion. We let the deck turn grey for years, as untreated, that's what Ipe does. I decided this year to sand the wood down a little. It's really hard wood and then I coated it with Penofin Clear oil. They also make a natural oil but it turns wood a light brown also. The clear worked beautifully and the colors of the wood shown through. I highly recommend this product and it works as the instructions say. I painted it on with a pole on the end of the paint brush, not bending over and then wiped up any excess with paper towels. Turned out better than I could have imagined.

I was worried at first with the large notice on the can saying that it may spontaneously combust. We followed the recommendations and had no issues. The stain is very thin and easy to use. Clean up was just water for us. You can see how the stain gets absorbed and it makes the wood look great. We have only had it on the wood for about 2-3 weeks so I am not sure of the longevity. We will see.

Great for horizontal deck surfaces, but use SPARINGLY! A little goes a long way. Use a shurline or similar applicator. Too much will never dry and become sticky. THREE good days to dry. Once done, surface is bulletproof for a good year or so. Spontaneous combustion is an issue with rags, so minimize using them. Again, use sparingly.

I put this product on my new redwood gate and fence. I used a pump sprayer and a wood stain brush to even it out. Using both of these made it a very easy application! I used about 2-1/2 gallons for 54 linear feet. So I still have a half gallon for any touch ups… it ended up giving the redwood a dark rich color no orange color. I read in another review that it was difficult to take off the safety sealer on the can. It was very easy just using a pair of channel lock pliers. U-tube also has a lot of information about the product! I wood highly recommend using this product on any outdoor wood you would like to seal.

I have been using eBay oil on my deck, but after several years, I alwayshad to sand because it becomes opaque and doesn’t show the beauty of the wood. This time I sanded and use this product. I was very pleased with the transparency. It does have a slight tint, but that is because of The UV factor.

I use this stuff every year and it works great. Don't leave out in sun because it is flammable. Goes on easy and dries in about two hours.

It was returned back to them they didn't notify me so I was waiting andI needed this product
