Best all-rounder
Best overal laptop. Very stylish and amazing build quality. The best aspect of this laptop is its all day battery life. You can do research and report writing the whole day and you wont need to charge also, when it runs low it charges up very fast. Touch screen is flawless. Finger print reader is good.

Known problem
Laptop would not turn off - apparently due to a known fault with the power microswitch. Not happy with this product failure. Should not be sold with a known problem.

Fantastic but???
Great piece of kit. Fast efficient and all I need. Little disappointed initially as speaker driver was outdated so crackled. Contacted amazon who put me through to hp. Eventually talked through updating driver. Worked perfectly. Should have worked first time but customer support fantastic. Saved me returning it. 5 star computer only faulted by driver issue.

Excellent bar a few things which suck
Excellent portable but hugely let down by the following. Review based on the 13" Ryzen Version. 8GB Ram is not entirely accurate as only 6GB is available, the remaining 2GB is allocated to the Graphics card and cannot be changed, also the Ram chips are soldered on board so this cannot be upgraded (knew this part before purchase but didn't anticipate the amount dedicated to graphics to be fixed) The keyboard back-light issue is a huge pain in the butt, approx 15 seconds and auto turns off, this cannot be changed either, there are hundreds of unhappy users on the HP forum trying to get it resolved and HP does not want to know, using an external mouse? If so, good luck, that won't even register to keep the keyboard illuminated and am 99.9% considering returning this back for a refund based on these two points alone. FYI the gfx memory issue is also the source of frustration on HP forums. A less important personal gripe is that when CPU usage is moderate and this is on your lap, it gets HOT, as in the entire thing is made from Alloy which is a huge bonus for not being flimsy and is a very nice dark anodised colour, bad point is the heat is very obvious and right where it rests on your lap, also its a finger print magnet so be prepared to keep cleaning it. Apart from the above, awesome and a damn shame but hugely let down by 2 things which HP could have avoided by adding a timeout setting for the keyb back-light and an option for how much ram to dedicate to the graphics. Sadly it gets 3 stars as a result. It is possible that HP may sort this at some later date, my HP Z-Book17 got criticised for the back-lit keyboard issue at first and was added in to bios settings later on (luckily before I bought that one)

6GB not 8GB RAM!
Over 2GB of this machine's RAM is reserved for hardware (compared to less than 100mb in most machines). beware! Touch screen is also inaccurate. Battery life is ok. It's well built will a steel case. Doesn't feel delicate like some talet/pc hybrids. Keyboard feels nice to use.

HP Envy
Being an ordinary PC user, this is the most useless piece of rubbish i have ever come across, not.I compatable with Windows 10.Pop ups came up every time in use, screen froze on several occasions, keypad stopped working, would not do a performance check.Cortana never worked I installed Chrome and Norton security. In conversation with HPengineer he advised would be better to use these than microsoft edge and not to rely on windows security Although under guarantee, HP will not refund my money.To-morrow will be the 5th time they have accessed my computer, they have sent me a recovery dongle. The computer, has been returned to factory settings.Windows has been uninstalled and reinstalled.they have given up with Cortana.drivers were not updated.windows updates were never loaded.see what happens to=morrow. i have invited my neighbour a computer engineer to stand in for me.I will say i have a 10year old HP Pavillion which my neighbour installed Windows 10,works fine.

An all round smart, sleek device that handles day to day tasks
Great small laptop that does all I need (programming and a little Minecraft/age of empires now and then) the folding screen is good for films and has replaced the need for an iPad. The backlit keyboard does not stay on permanently and there is no fix for this.
