yes - to me it does - some people keep ketchup out of refrigeration but I choose to refrigerate that also - it just keeps the product bacteria free if one refrigerates it.

does it need to be refridgerated?

No. Unless you want to. Refrigeration will help it to retain its flavor, but again it is not necessary. If you think about it, most restaurants don't refrigerate theirs, but some people do, dealers choice here!
