G40 LED Festoon Lights 50FT

I wanted a string of garden lights that did not depend on solar but likewise were cheap to run. As they are LED they hardly draw any power but give an amazing light when sat in the garden. They are not too bright but it means you can see what you are doing in the area rather than solar lights that just look good. Very lightweight so easy to mount on a fence or what ever you choose. You get two spare bulbs, not because the LED fails but more if you accidentally break the glass. Only one con, the lead from the mains plug to the first bulb is very short. You can buy a special extension lead that comes with matching mini plug and socket. extend it yourself with a cable joint or simply use a mains extension lead.

Originally bought for our wedding in 2020 which obviously got cancelled. So instead I used the lights in our garden and on our veranda. Hanging for 4 years now and still look as good as new, not even a blown bulb. Really excellent quality. Easy to put up with the loops and a really nice warm light.

Firstly, these are lovely lights. I've got them running along the top of the garden fence and with 1 bulb every foot, they look pretty spectacular when they are on. The only issue I had was getting them to work with the extension cable that these lights were paired with on Amazon as 'frequently bought together'. These lights have a slightly different connection. The plug size and shape is the same but the extension lead has a rubber 'splitter' running vertically down the middle of the male connector. As the female connector on the lights doesn't have room for this to slot into, I ended up taking a pair of scissors and a sharp knife to the male connector until I had removed the offending piece of rubber. It didn't take long to do but was necessary in order to get the extension to work. I don't know how anyone uses these without the extension lead as the distance from the first bulb to the plug it literally about 30cm. Once up and working they are great lights, just be wary that the female plug connections on the lights are solid and will not connect to the Amazon extension leads without the modification mentioned in this review. Overall: Happy as they look great.

Had a bit of a challenge chossing lights for the garden as there are so many on Amazoin it gets mind boggling. I wanted a 50ft length to go round a pergola but then the choice is how many bulbs you want, e.g 25, 50 other. I went for 50 in the end so a buld every 6 inches, however this is very bright - too bright really - and I have ended up slightly unscrewing some if th ebulbs to turn them off and reduce the light level. My suggestion would be, unless you are lighting the flight path to your local airport (or need it really bright like over a cooking area) and just want mood level brightness then go for fewer bulbs on the line. Only real negative - the cable length to first bulb is ridiculous, 6" max. - same comment on most of the reviews of other sets I looked at too to be fair. I ordered the Amazon recommended extension cable with it too but the connector is a completely different size so no use. Luckily I had another (Amazon recommended) extension lead in the garage that didn't fit a set of solar lights I got which luckliy fit these. Glad I went for these though and so far my choice has been a good one. All bulbs worked first time out of the box and no failures so far.

Having bought in January 2025, they were first used in November 2025 and one of the light fittings has melted on first use.

Really impressed by these garden lights. Sturdy construction. Look great and despite low wattage (20 watt incandescent equivalent) give off a nice bright warm light which lights up the garden nicely. Just what I wanted. Bought extension cable as well which was great. Have to say too the customer service at Brimax is excellent. One of the bulbs failed within 3 minutes (not really a problem as they provide a spare anyway) but one e-mail to [email protected] on a Sunday afternoon elicited a prompt apology and reply from Brimax first thing Monday with 2 new bulbs arriving by courier the following day. Wouldn't hesitate in recommending these products and Company. Thanks guys.

Au départ j’ai acheté cette guirlande sans vraiment savoir si le produit était de qualité ou pas. Je suis agréablement surpris par cette guirlande ! Facile à installer grâce aux petits crochets disponibles à chaque ampoule. La guirlande est fournie avec une prise européenne et une anglaise ( j’ai eu peur dans un premier temps car je ne trouvais pas la prise européenne, mais elle était bien dans la boîte). La lumière est chaude et rends une belle ambiance sur notre terrasse ! La lumière est très agréable mais ne remplacera pas un vrai apport de lumière pour vraiment voir clairement dans son assiette, mais pour moi, ce n’est pas le but de cet éclairage Cette guirlande est bien parallèle donc ce qui veut dire que si une ampoule vient à casser, seule cette ampoule est impactée et le reste de la guirlande fonctionnera toujours. Les ampoule semblent fragiles et heureusement il y a 4 ampoules en surplus pour les cas oû ( d’ailleurs j’en ai lâchée une lors de l’installation et cela n’a pas pardonné). Ceci dit je vais acheter une extension car je suis relativement content et je veux couvrir une plus grande partie de notre terrasse. Je verrai bien évidemment à l’usage, mais très satisfait pour le moment.

Prime war es mal wieder wert. Super schnelle Lieferung. Licht funktioniert und ist exakt wie beschrieben. Dachte zunächst dass die Lichterkette zu "billig" wirken würde, finde ich aber überhaupt nicht. Sieht super gemütlich aus, bietet genügend Licht für draußen, blended aber nicht. Sogar ein britischer Adapter dabei. Würde ich wieder kaufen.
