Generic 10X Replacement UMD Game Disc Case Shell (804551664342)

Came wrapped in a strip of cellophane, but the one day shipping was deserving of 5 stars alone They are a simple two piece design that is really, really easy to use. My GTA liberty city stories UMD case was broken down the side and cracked all over, I took out the UMD disc from it and put it into one of these and snapped the other side on and was ready to go. Best price you can get these at, and they work quieter than the original sony UMDs for me as well.

Easy to swap the UMDs and renews the games. Happy with my purchase.

These cases are great and easy to put together once you get your PSP games safely out of their old cases but the only problem I had is that I was missing one set. Thanks!

Awful. The PSP seems to have a hard time telling if there is a UMD inside the system and there are moments when the disc wont even start to spin and you have to eject and put the UMD back in several times for it to realize there is a game in. Sometimes they work, sometimes they dont(I would say I have to try each game around 5 or 6 times for the PSP to boot the game). I have three different PSPs and I replaced 9 shells on 9 different games. All of them are giving me trouble. Not sure what the problem is but this is very frustrating.

While these are a nice option, something to keep in mind when buying these is that not ALL the shells hold together properly. In my case, four of the ten shells I got in this set clasped together at the top and bottom good enough to not worry about them coming apart while using them in a PSP. The other six, while the bottom latches held good, the top part of the shells come undone from the lightest fiddling or when taking them out of a PSP game case. While this problem can be fixed with some improvisation, it takes very steady hands to do, given what these are used with. Only advice I can give when buying a set of these, treat it like a grab bag of sorts. The set of ten you get could all work perfectly, only four to six might be good, or-- if you're really unlucky, all ten of them could be bad. If you don't know how-- or don't want to attempt repairing or improving the latches yourself, you might want to pass on these. Otherwise, a fair option to consider.

Long story short, these are superior in design to the factory cases/shells. They will be a lot less likely to suffer the same fate of coming open at the edges, or the center section breaking out. Because these are only two pieces and are indexed and held together by molded pins I think they’ll hold up a lot better in the long run. Make sure your disc is clean and take your time lining up the two halves before you press them together. I replaced the shells on 6 games tonight and every one of them works great now.
