We got the medium blend and it was so very good! I ordered more of it immediately to make sure we didn't run out of it. No chemicals in it and no sawdust.

I more or less gave up caffeine. For the most part I prefer brewing my own coffee, but there are times when the simplicity of instant coffee is really appealing. I have tried a number of different instant decaf coffees and Waka is one of the best. It's smooth and has a great flavor. Also, instant coffee often has, for lack of a better term, "instant twang": this mild background flavor that all instant coffees seem to have. Different coffees have this twang in different amounts. One of the things I liked about Waka is that the twang is minimal and also much less than most other instant coffees out there.

After using this instant coffee for about 5 weeks, I feel better qualified to make a more qualified review as to the taste. Originally thought this was really incredible and would not have to use my 9 cup oxo coffee maker again. But after about 3 weeks, I started to miss the richer coffee that my oxo made and which I did not appreciate. So, is this good instant coffee? Absolutely. But don't kid yourself that it is going to be a complete taste replacement if you currently use high grade coffee, filtered water and a quality coffee maker. I will continue to use Waka instant, but more of a filler than the primary coffee.

You know how good this is going to taste as soon as you put the crystals in the hot water, it smells amazing and has great flavor. I drink it black or make mochas. Mocha recipe: 2 tsp Waka Decaf and 2 TBL Ghirardelli Sweet Ground Cocoa powder dissolved in 2 oz very hot or boiling water, stir in 2-3 tsp Torani or Ghirardelli dark chocolate sauce. Add 3/4 c ice then add 4-6 oz of milk, stir and top with whipped cream.

While this coffee has no sour taste as majority of the instant coffee that you find on the shelves, it has no much taste , not even close to a taste of a good ground coffee. Even with the sale price is higher than Davidoff instant coffee that in my mind is better.

After having my first taste I double-checked the package to make sure it was decaf. I’ve tried many decafs and coffee substitutes and this transcends them all. Rich coffee taste with no bitterness. It’s pricey, but I’ll keep buying it. I’ve wasted a lot of money over the years on bland or undrinkable substitutes, including decafs from all the big coffee shops.

The BEST Instant Coffee !

I was really hoping to like this coffee, given the reviews and the expectations that for the money I spent it would be great. I was REALLY disappointed; there's definitely an earthiness to the coffee, but it doesn't taste like coffee. I was careful to prepare it as I was instructed--first mixing the coffee with a small amount of hot (not boiling) water, stirring the coffee, and then waiting a minute or two to add more water. I like half and half in my coffee and even when I added it, the flavor was strange, and strangely bland. This coffee over-promised and under-delivered and I'm surprised it's been as well-rated. I wish I had gotten Bustelo.
